Are you using the default Abbreviation list?  Click the Scripture menu, + Abbreviation List, and Use Default List.

Attached are the source file with only the fixes I mentioned above, and the resultant BBLX file, built using the default abbreviation list.

Thank you once again for sending me the bblx!

It is working but does not display italics in "Compare" mode  Why is that?

I was trying to use the text you sent me to create a bbli and it continues to give a "Bad Reference" as soon as it gets to Luke

I tried opening up the text with ToolTip, I tried copying/pasting the text and nothing.

So I had to convert the bblx into bbli with the eSword PC to Apple Module Converter.

Because e-Sword 10 and 11 are less compatible for x modules based on RTF than e-Sword 8 and 9.

bbli is compatible to all e-Sword versions except e-Sword 9 or older that use only x module in RTF code.

I asked but you did not answer what Abbreviation List you are using?  Are you using the Default list?  An incorrectly prepared abbreviation list can give you the bad reference error.

I am using Default List in Abbreviation List.

It appears that the bbli works perfect, it does display the italics in “Compare”. The bblx works fine but does not display italics in “Compare”

So you can say that I already have the solution. Thanks to you!

I appreciate all your help!

OK - well I built a BBLI from your source file.  See attached.

I can't say why you are getting a bad reference error, was this with the edited file I posted above?

Here is an experiment you can try,  with T4 running and you source file loaded, select several lines of text, press Ctrl+C to copy it to the clipboard, then press Ctrl+Shift+N.  Did you get the Bible popup with the verses you had selected?  Try this with the Luke references.  Do they show when you use the Popup?

OK - the code that picks off the book, chapter and verse numbers in the code that generates Bible modules is very old, dating back to the beginning of the program.  I have re-written it and it is now much more tolerant of variations, stray unicode characters and stray spaces.  It built the Bible module in question on this thread with the original source files without an issue (on my setup!)  I'll post and update after a bit more testing.
