What e-readers would work the best for the e-Sword programs that would fit into a low-cost budget?

Any suggestions welcome.

Thank you for your time with Blessings.

e-Sword is free, and it will read all the modules designed for it. This would include all of the modules available here on this site - all free. You can't get any cheaper than free.

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

With regard to what Journey said to your query, I would add that there are no other e-readers that will work with e-Sword due to the fact they work off a totally different system which is foreign to e-Sword.

e-Sword uses a database system called SQLite, of which reads data from that system. What is also little known, and important to realize, that there two other Bible Study programs that I am aware of which uses SQLite, and yet their resources are incompatible to e-Sword. The fundamental reason for this is in the way the Database for the resources are constructed, which is known as the schema.

For example, e-Sword and TheWord use the SQLite Database system, and the schema used for e-Sword's resources is vastly different to the schema that is used for TheWord's resources. Not only that, but also what makes one incompatible to the other is based on the security that has been placed into the database files.

So, with all that information, its important to realize that to try to get one resource to work in a system which it has not been designed for just can't happen unless some form of conversion process can take place. That said, in some (if not all) systems, to convert from one to another can result in loss of data.

Trust this has been helpful to you.

Blessings,
