Hello,

How do I reduce the font size of a copied verse while maintaining the size of my screen font?

In other words, I have my on screen Bible set at 14 pt. but I want to copy and paste it in 10 pt.

Is there a option for reducing the fonts size of copied verses?

   Thanks

Simple. If you have your default set 14 points, then what will be pasted will, by default, be 14 points. So, if what you want to be set differently after pasting , simply select the already pasted text, and then change to font size in the dropdown combobox to what you want it to be. Simple as that. See video demo below.

Now, with that said, If the font in the Bible, Commentary, Dictionary windows are set to 10 points, then all you need to do is to select the text you want to copy, and then in the popup context menu (that comes up when you right click with the mouse) simply click on the Paste into Topic Notes (or whatever Note editor is active), and  the text is directly pasted at the font size from where it came from. See video demo below.

Trust this is helpful to you.

Blessings,

Thank you for taking the time to make the video to answer my question.

I was looking for simply a setting which allowed me to select font size for pasting without highlighting the verse and resetting the font to 10 pt.

LORD bless you too!

I understood your query, and gathered as much of what you were hoping for. That said, outside of what I showed you, there are no other methods available. Unlike in some word processors where there are pasting options such as Paste Special or Paste Formatted, these aren't available in the e-Sword note editors. If these pasting options were available in e-Sword, you would have gotten what you wanted.

P.S. Suggest you contact Rick Meyers at e-Sword.net and make a suggestion of how to improve e-Sword, and see what reply you get from him. I am certain that you will get a constructive answer from him.

There is a much simpler way.

Uncheck the option in the main menu -> Options -> Editor Options -> paste as formatted. Or press function key F11, and you will see in the bottom right corner of e-Sword "RAW". This indicates that you will be pasting without formatting. So whatever you have set in the editor will be the font size.

Also change the setting in the Copy Verses window. Main menu -> Bible -> Copy Verses. Uncheck the box that says "Include text formatting".

Now your text will paste to the size you see set in your editor window.
