Hi all,

 

I have seen articles from 2012 about how to create modules for e-Sword.

I have contact to a ministry that would like to try it out...

 

I would just like to know if that is still the way you do it today?

If it is, can anyone help me to get started?

 

I am a web-developer, so I have knowledge on how programming works, but I would prefer something easier, so I don't have to sit and make a lot of hardcoding, and maybe even avoid it.

As you are a web-developer, creating e-Sword commentary should be a piece of cake for you.

Latest version of e-Sword supports html-based modules in sqlite file.

Simply format entries in html and import into a sqlite template for e-Sword.

If your source is a well-formatted one, it may take around 0-15 min to create a module.

You may try download one of my newly uploaded commentary, LGNTDF, open it with a sqlite editor and take a look.

This file is a very simple one.

There is a module creation tool called E-Sword Tooltip that is the easiest to use to create modules, the program comes with a detailed users manual to guide you through the module creation process.

What TJ Higgins says is right. Use the Tooltip Editor to easily Crete modules. I have been preaching for 40 years. Creating modules for as word is one of the easiest things I have ever done...There is a great PDF help file for the editor that will make it so-so easy. If you are a programmer, you will have no excuse for not creating modules for as word. Just make sure you teach the truth, or you (me too) will face a much stricter judgment....

Yes, creating modules should be easy and is for those who know how to do it.

I have read the instructions several times and each time I try I get the following error:

I was doing this from scratch by copying and pasting from a pdf & a rtf file.

I was going step by step through your instructions, but no joy.

I was finally able to get it to show only 1 verse, but I had 2 verses in the 1st chapter of Genesis.

Then when I copied & pasted the title and the bible version, it gave me the same error as before.

If I have to copy & paste the whole Bible, it will take a very long time,

but when I used the rtf file, the text was all jumbled, and I still got that error.

 

P.S. I can't find a way to attach my rtf file.

No images are not allowed in bblx files
