Hi Jose,

The Script should work fine for cmtx files for e-Sword 10.4 or any other version in the 10x range. The cmtx file type is a commentary file based on the SQLite database system, and as such it should work with any version of e-Sword that supports SQLite based files. Only time it doesn't work is if it contains images in version below 10.

Blessings,

Hi Stephen,

I was referring to Rob's script to convert a cmtx file to cmt.myBible (for Android).
Thanks,

José.

thanks for your help. Does work that script on cmtx file from 10.4 eSword version?
I had an error msg like "Use of uninitialized value within %fncolor in concatenatio (.) or string at esctmx2mys.pl line 298. RTF_ERR_66.22.21"

Hi José,

Is it possible that you mail the module to me so I can see how and where the problem occurs? If you zip the module and it's still larger than 7MB, email won't work. If that's the case I can make something available for you to upload it to. If it's smaller than 7MB you can mail it to bibsup at hamal.nl.

Regards,

Rob

I'm sorry José, but my script won't work on your file. There are two ways to start and end the scope of an RTF tag. The first is by placing it in brackets like this:

this text contains a single {\i italic} word

or by using a start and a stop tag like this:

this text contains a single \i italic \i0 word.

In the latter case \i0 denotes the end of \i. The way my script works, it cannot handle the second type and your cmtx module is built using these kind of tags. I'll try to see if I can find some conversion tool but don't hold your breath...

Regards,

Rob

Atheist Rob,

Thank you for the script, but I am struggling to make it work.

Am I correct in my understanding that there is a script specifically for each translation to be converted to MySword?

If not, then I certainly do something wrong. I have a 'home made' bible module in e-Sword 10.x format which I want to convert to MySword. I have both esbblx2mys.pl

and esvorg2mysword.pl installed and trying to run these scripts with my module name, but I receive "no such file or directory" error message. The .bblx file is in the same folder as the .bat and .pl files.

Please help.

Thank you for the info,  I will/can use it if and when I want to make these types of changes to the text.

I am still at a loss as to how to convert from .bblx to MySword.

Please help.

Hi

if you don't mind uploading a zip file of your bible, I can convert it for you and give you information about it.

Thanks

Thank u for your assistance, but if you do the conversion, then I still do not know how to do it.

If I need to make a change to the text later, then I will need to approach you again to help, and I don't think that is beneficial.

Regards,

Thank you, I have gone through your article and started converting to MyWord, but as my module uses many 'special' characters, some letters are lost during the conversion, which defeats the object.

Johan
