It's a pretty large commentary, close to the size of the Maclaren commentary in the number of pages. I don't think a clean copy of the actual electronic text exists, at least not publicly available. In my view, this is not a project that you will be able to finish in a week or two or three.

HI,

Is there anybody interested in John Trapp's commentary of the Old and New Testament? To make this cmt is more work than the Lange's cmt. A lot of formatting and spell checks. Once that is done, the next job is formatting it into a commentary form. The tool I use a lot is T3.

I am looking to start on this cmt after I finish the Lange's Cmt. - a lot of work Tool Tipping. I like as many scripture references to be Tool Tipped. This process takes a lot of time.

Here's what Spurgeon said of Trapp:

Would it be possible to eulogise too much the incomparably sententious and suggestive folios of John Trapp? {6} Since Mr. Dickinson has rendered them accessible, {7} I trust most of you have bought them. Trapp will be most valuable to men of discernment, to thoughtful men, to men who only want a start in a line of thought, and are then able to run alone. Trapp excels in witty stories on the one hand, and learned allusions on the other. You will not thoroughly enjoy him unless you can turn to the original, and yet a mere dunce at classics will prize him. His writings remind me of himself: he was a pastor, hence his holy practical remarks; he was the head of a public school, and everywhere we see his profound scholarship; he was for some time amid the guns and drums of a parliamentary garrison, and he gossips and tells ***** anecdotes like a man used to a soldier's life; yet withal, he comments as if he had been nothing else but a commentator all his days. Put him on the table when you study, and when you have your dish ready, use him by way of spicing the whole thing. Yes, gentlemen, read Trapp certainly, and if you catch the infection of his consecrated humour, so much the better for your hearers.

I think the easy answer is "of course, since you're volunteering to do it!"

Seriously, I have never used John Trapp; but if he's as good as Spurgeon says, I'd like to add him to the stable.

Is anybody willing to Help me do Spell check and grammar check? I will start by converting it from PDF to Word -> Then Format it. -> Spell Check and grammar check -> to Tool Tip Tool.

Hi all,

Here is John Trapp's Commentary in Word format. You can copy and paste into Tool Tip Tool. The text need to be resized, spell and grammar check. There are 5 parts in the file.

What I did was copy and paste from PDF to Word, then I removed the extra returns. And what is left is spell and grammar check.

I am curious how you get that text. Do you have an easier way that copy and pasting it all off of the website? It looks well formatted. Lange looks well formatted too...
