Hello all, I've recently set up E-Sword on my Macbook Pro 13" and am wondering if there is a way to use mac's keyboard shortcut creation process in System Preferences to make shortcuts for menu items and context menu items in E-Sword x?

 

For instance...

 

option-H would bring up the Bible > Highlighted Verses... menu item.

 

Ideally, I would love to set keyboard shortcuts for the highlight colors!

 

command-1 for Highlight > Orange

etc.

 

Has anyone had experience with this on Mac?  I know there is an e-sword hotkey add-on for windows, but obviously that doesn't work for Mac

Apple menu > System Preferences > Keyboard > App Shortcuts

Choose the [+] to add a new shortcut

Choose e-Sword X

type in the name of the "EXACT" menu item

click in the "Keyboard Shortcut" box

use the shortcut keys you want to assign.

 

Use your shortcut.

Roy, That's great!  Can you use this method to create a shortcut for each color of highlights?  Something like cmd-1 for highlight orange???

I don't think so. I messed with it for a couple minutes and could not pull it off.
