Recently my Mac was infected with Malware “Mughthesec” and the only way to remove this infection is to remove the operating system El Capitan which is no longer available so I am going to download High Sierra after I install a new SSD.

My question is can I download e-Sword X from the Apple App Store without having to purchase it again?

Thank you for your support and God bless.

Hi Steve,

Oh dear! I have no ideal. That is something I cannot honestly tell you.

OK, with that said, my suggestion is that after downloading it (even if you have to pay for it), is that you actually save the downloaded file on to some kind of external media, e.g., a USB Pen Drive, a DVD or CD, external Hardrive and etc. That is your only saving grace.

I'm a huge supporter of doing backups, and its something I do both incrementally about once a month, and full backup about once a year. This backup goes to all downloaded software, images, e-books, e-Sword resources, programming files, and other documents.

I've had system crashes, and lost all my data more times than I care to count. Had it been not for those backups, I would been up the proverbial creek without a paddle in a canoe full of holes totally gone down the gurgler (glug, glug, glug). So, with bearing that in mind, I seriously (as serious as I possibly can get) suggest you even backup your e-Sword X installer file.

Another thing I do, which I highly recommend. Have two drives in your computer. Your SSD just for your OS, and an HDD for all your other programs and data files.

Now, I'm not a Mac user, but a PC one, and I have an SSD just for Windows. No other software gets installed onto that. And I have a 1TB HDD for all data and other software files. That way if the SSD gets corrupted in some way, then all my other applications and data is safe. Seriously (as in really severe and deadly serious, and no kidding mixed in with that), you do this, it really will save a lot of headaches and heartaches rolled into one.

Trust this really helps you.

Blessings,

you will/would have purchased eSword-X through the Apple store. Once you have reinstalled MacOS just log into the App store with your Apple ID and you can re-download the app.

I thought I could download it again but I wasn’t sure being that it’s going to be a different OS. I tried to use the recover and it didn’t work. My present SSD is only 120gb and I have 2 internal optical drives for storage and Time Machine backups so I ordered a 1tb SSD and Paralells 13 so that I can install Windows too and not have limitations on downloading stuff here and now My Time Machine Im erasing to be sure to get rid of that infection and I already moved everything I need to the optical drive and will be scanning the contents before moving it onto the new SSD. I’m also going to get SwordSearcher also to expand my studies so all is good.

Thank you for the info and advice!
