I have a set of memory verses in E-Sword that I studied for my ordination a few years back. I am preaching in view of a call at a different church this weekend, and wanted to brush up on some key supporting Scriptures. The problem is that I would really like to print out at least the references, and cannot see any way to do that in E-Sword. Is there any tool that can let me open the .memx file to get the list out, without retyping them all?

If you mean verses saved  in the Verse List, then just open the Verse List and click on the printer icon. If you mean they are in Tools>Scripture Memory, then the best you can do IMHO is to open the Scripture Memory, click on the Verse Maintenance tab, insert your cursor, them CTRL-A then CTRL-C to copy and then paste into your document. I would suggest putting verses in a Verse List in the future since you can print from there. Hope this helps. Blessings.

Thanks for the help. They are in Scripture Memory, but CTRL+A is not working for me. Renaming the memx file as a lstx file was also a failure. :(

OK on the CTRL+A. Try this: right click on the first word in the verse, then drag the mouse pointer to the last word, highlighting all the words. Then CTRL+C to copy, then paste into your document.

That works for moving the verses over one at a time, which is a whole lot better than nothing. I think it is silly that there is no way to do it all at once, or a way to move memory verses over the reference lists. Oh well! Thank you.

Hi Justin

When I read your initial post, I noticed that you actually hit on an idea that I think you should actually follow up on by making a request to Rick Meyers. And that is to add in a print option to the Memory Verse tool in e-Sword. You know, that isn't a silly idea, and I think its one that can help out a lot, and has more benefits to it than one can actually poke a stick at.

One idea that springs to mind, is printing out the complete list of memory verses so that they can be distributed to a Kids Club kind of thing, and/or children's Sunday School classes. One's carrot juices (ideas) can really flow out of having a print control added in to the Memory Verse tool.

Verse List would be ideal for that and you can print it.

Yep, I can go along with that. Not a bad idea.

See, Justin, more ways in killing a cat than choking it to death with whipped cream.
