Today is the first time this has ever happened. I can search in the dictionary, commentary, or editor windows with no problem. I click on the binocular icon in the Bible window, and the search dialogue box never opens. Anybody got a suggestion?

What translation did you use in the active tab (The Bible that is selected in the Bible window)? A source or translation that lack the NT or the OT? Or did you search it while it was in Compare or Parallel Bible mode?

Go to options and "Tooltip translation" and select for both testaments (Active Translation).

Why have I never had to jump through this hoop in the twenty+ years I've been using e-Sword? I didn't even see that selection under Options.

I tried to search at least three different Bibles: KJV, ESV, and HCSB. All had both testaments. The search window simply won't open to key in a search phrase/word/whatever.

Getting ready to shut down for the night. Will give it another shot mañana. FWIW, I'm using v. 11.0.6

This may sound dumb but. Do you have Esword open full screen?  If so shrink it down.  Now if as you say the other search box's work try this.  I lost my search box but it turned out that I had just moved it so far down the screen that when I went to use it it did not show.  Try looking around the edges of your screen and see if it may be hiding there. If that does not work try changing the display setting.  Just Rt clk on screen and choose it from the popup box.

That did it! I shrunk the e-Sword display down as much as possible, and at first, I didn't think it was going to help. Finally, I saw the very top edge of the box barely visible near the bottom border. Grabbed it and pulled it up into the center of the screen and all is well. Thank you so much!
