Are the module files, i.e., Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries, etc. the same for PC and Ios? IOW, do they run on either platform?

Modules for e-Sword can be created in 2 different file formats for different versions of e-Sword on different platforms.

The windows PC version of Windows modules have a file format with a file extension that ends in the letter "x".  Here are the different PC module types and their file extensions:

Topics (Books) - topx
Commentary - cmtx
Bible - bblx
Dictionary - dctx
Devotional - devx
Maps and Graphics - mapx
Harmony - harx
Bible Reading Plan - brpx

Modules with the above file formats only run in Windows versions of e-Sword up to and including the newest version, Version 11

ios modules have a file format that with an extension that ends in the letter "i" here are the different ios module types and their file extensions:

Reference Library (REFI)
Bible (BBLI),
Commentary (CMTI),
Dictionary (DCTI)
Bible Reading Plan (BRPI).

Modules with the above file formats will run on all Apple/Mac versions of e-Sword and Version 11 of the Windows version of e-Sword. Version 11 is the only version of e-Sword that runs all of the module formats available. This was due to change in the programming of e-Sword starting with the release of version 11.

If you wish to use one of the PC only modules with an apple or mac version of windows there is converter utility available at e-sword.net
