I made a backup copy of my e-Sword in case my computer crashes again on a flash drive.

Though when looking at the list of modules I found an active program and I need to find out what it is and what it does.

Here is what is on my flash drive: 'ComboList.ocx' This is the name of it.

And under the type, it says 'ActiveX Control'

Does anyone know what it is?

Blessings and thanks for your time.

Virgil

combolist.ocx is one of two active x controls that are installed with e-Sword the other is called richedit.ocx. Neither file is dangerous they are both part of what makes e-Sword run

Hi Virgil,

OCX (and dll) files are like mini type programs that run in the main program. The best way to describe them is they are like add-ons to the main program for which they have been designed for. They contain their own interface in which works within the program they have  been designed for. The main program is known as the "container" because it runs and controls these files.

e-Sword, is only one of a raft of programs which use ocx (and dll) files.

Blessings,

Thank both of you for the information.

I will try and remember it.
