Hello.

I have just upgraded to E-sword 11.x and downloaded a ton of English Bible versions for it.

I also moved the entire new E-sword directory our of program files x86 and did a clean install of 7.05 so that I now have two installs of E-sword.

at present, I am swapping the two E-sword directories in and out so I can run either one. The reason for doing this is that I have 10 bibles in E-sword 7.5 that I do not have for E-sword 11.x and they will not convert as they are password protected.

ASV, CEV, CLV, ESV, GNB, GW, HNV, KJVR, MKJV, MSG.

I looked for these in the downloads section but did not find them.

So is it possible to run two different versions of E-sword at the same time so I do not have to exit and swap as I am doing now?

I tried renaming the E-sword 7.5 directory to E-sword2 and renaming the E-sword.exe to E-sword2.exe I had E-sword 11.x up and running then launched E-sword2.exe and it did run but had 0 resources, it came up just a plain blank slate.

would something like running a virtual machine or dos-box work?

Thanks.

Most of these Bibles are available from the built-in downloader of e-Sword itself.

Thank you I was able to get 7 of the 10, they are downloading now.

That just leaves 3, HNV, KJVR, and The Message, but its a premium and I already have it in e-sword 7.5

Hi Mike,

If you have Windows 10 Pro on your machine, then you have an excellent little program that come with it. Does not come with the Home Edition of Windows 10, only Pro and Enterprise. The name of the Program is called Hyper-V. Other wise known as Hypervisor.

With this tool you can create as many virtual machines as you like, and install as many Operating Systems as you like of just about any flavor or kind you may like. Even go totally crazy and install Windows 3.11 on it if you want to. Woo! Glory to God.

Anyway, the point is that you can create a Virtual Machine and install Windows XP on it, and install an early version of e-Sword on that machine, and run it normally. This way you can keep everything separate from your main machine and avoid any conflicts that could possibly happen.

For instruction and help in how to use Hyper-v, there's heaps of videos on YouTube that will talk you through the process.

Blessings,
