I just noticed the following display in K & D while reading commentary on Is. 55. Either it has always looked like this and I am slow to notice it or it is a new issue. Can anyone comment? I am running the latest update of e-sword hd.Attached File  IMG_1547.PNG   571.91K   33 downloadsAttached File  IMG_1547.PNG   571.91K   33 downloads

I have the PC version of e-Sword, so this may or may not help.  But here is the entry I have for K&D Isaiah 53:6-7  (as far as I can tell that is the verse you were referring to.)

Isaiah 55:6-7
So gracious is the offer which Jehovah now makes to His people, so great are the promises that He makes to it, viz., the regal glory of David, and the government of the world by virtue of the religion of Jehovah. Hence the exhortation is addressed to it in Isa_55:6 and Isa_55:7: “Seek ye Jehovah while He may be found, call ye upon Him while He is near. Let the wicked forsake his way, and the unrighteous man his thoughts: and let him return to Jehovah, and He will have compassion upon him; and to our God, for He will abundantly pardon.” They are to seek to press into the fellowship of Jehovah (dârash with the radical meaning terere, to acquire experimental knowledge or confidential acquaintance with anything) now that He is to be found (Isa_65:1, compare the parallelism of words and things in Jer_29:14), and to call upon Him, viz., for a share in that superabundant grace, now that He is near, i.e., now that He approaches Israel, and offers it. In the admonition to repentance introduced in Isa_55:7, both sides of the μετάνοια find expression, viz., turning away from sinful self-will, and turning to the God of salvation. The apodosis with its promises commences with ויִרַחֲמֵהוּ - then will He have compassion upon such a man; and consequently לִסְלוֹחַ כִּי־יַרְבֶּה (with כִּי because the fragmentary sentence וְאֶל־אֱלֹהֵינוּ did not admit of the continuation with וְ) has not a general, but an individual meaning (vid., Psa_130:4, Psa_130:7), and is to be translated as a future (for the expression, compare Isa_26:17).

Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, (Jeremiah 9:23-24a)

"Defenders of the faith are inclined to be bitter until they learn to walk in the light of the Lord. When you have learned to walk in the light of the Lord, bitterness and contention are impossible." --Oswald Chambers, in Biblical Psychology from The Quotable Oswald Chambers.

Thanks, Tim. I should have been more specific as to what I meant by display. It is not the content but the several different size typefaces that seems weird to me which makes reading it much more difficult.

My best guess is the culprit is the e-sword update i downloaded on Aug. 13. v. 7.0 since I did not have this issue before that and these commentaries are all official e-sword modules. I could be wrong and maybe there is a setting I can change. My iPad is running 10.3.2.

There has to be other iPad users, and it seems none of them is experiencing your problem. That would appear to indicate that the issue is with your device rather than e-Sword.

I could be wrong, and I hope I am. The only way to know for certain is for other iPad users to verify your experience.

No, I have an iPad Air 2 and am running eSword HD 6.5.

I do not have any issues with the displaying of that text.

Are you using the file downloaded from the eSword mend or is it one converted and transferred to the iPad?

Only suggestion I can make is delete the resource and re-install it from the official source within eSword.

P.S. No issues with Vincent's either....

P.P.S, I am running iOS 10.3.2

Just to close the loop on this thread. I emailed e-sword support and Rick said he needs to clean up some of the old files and fix formatting issues, Barnes, etc. (The issue is not with any files from Bible Support).
