Thank you both (BH, TJ Higgins) for the information. @TJ Higgins, some of the book names and abbreviations are nowhere similar to the English names, so I would rather try to add the abbreviations to the list as 'BH' has suggested.  @BH, how do I add books and abbreviations to the list of accepted names and abbreviations?  Secondly, why does the version number have to be version 3?  Thank you both again for your time.

You have to understand that E-Sword only displays the first 3 letters of each bible book name GEN=Genesis, EXO=Exodus, Etc.

However you can add your book names to the list in Tooltip by selecting Scripture from the tooltip menu which opens a drop down menu, and in the middle of that menu is an option called "Abbreviations" selecting this option will open another menu with 5 options listed. E-Sword Tooltip comes with an internal abbreviations list already installed. So the first thing to do is to select the option from the abbreviations list labeled "Copy Internal List to External" this will create an editable version of the abbreviations list. Once you have done this, there is an option in the abbreviations menu labeled "Edit External List" select this option and a box will open displaying the external list. You can now add you abbreviations to the list but make sure you follow the format of the list as the bible books are numbered so E-Sword will format them correctly. Genesis is numbered 1, Exodus is numbered 2 and so on through 66 which is Revelation. There are also book numbers from 67 to 78 which are for books from the Apocrypha.

Once you have finished adding your abbreviations to the list click the "OK" button at the bottom of the list window this will save your changes to the list.

After you have completed your edits and saved them you need to open the "Abbreviations" menu one more time and select the option labeled "Use External List" from the menu this will allow Tooltip to process you module using the additions you made to the Abbreviations list

@TJ Higgins, I took the following actions in this order:

1. "Copy Internal List to External"

2. saved it as Abbr1.txt

3. "Edit External List"

4. modified Abbr1.txt according to the stipulated format

5. saved it

6. opened the test file in Tahitian

7. tried to save the test file using method 2 in the Bible drop-down menu

8. Nothing happened! It didn't save. There were no error messages.

Did you change the version number from 1 to 3 like BH said?

Also there is a bible module in Tahitian already available for download from this site:

Sorry to have to tell you this. That Bible you mentioned is not Tahitian. It is the Maori Bible, which is a New Zealand (or Kiwi) Bible.
