Is there a software I can use to change the way the bible modules are shown as abbreviations when I turn on esword.

If it's Russia = RUS, King James = KJV, etc Some of the titles are so long the take up space on my esword.  I downloaded many modules and need to abbreviate

There is a utility called E-Sword Tab Renamer that will let you rename the tabs that appear in the E-Sword bible window. You can download the utility from this site:

Thought it might be an idea of sharing about the options that are actually available for renaming Tabs for Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries, Maps, and Devotional resources.

Basically there are three options available:

  1. SQLite Manager/Browser - Will rename Tabs (Abbreviations) on both official and 3rd party resources
  2. T4 (ToolTipTool NT) - Will only rename Tabs on 3rd party resources
  3. Tab Renamer - Will only rename Tabs on 3rd party resources.

Its important to note that official resources are locked and cannot be opened in Tab Renamer and T4. However, official resourced can be opened in SQLite Manager/Browser and the Details Table is editable.

I trust this information is helpful to you.

Blessings,

Hmm.... after downoading I tried to install. But what happens next? I can't find the program, nor do I see it being listed anywhere.

Try looking in your Windows default Download folder. If that fails, just do a search in the Windows File Explorer typing in the file name of the file you downloaded.

Blessings,

Stephen (Php 1:21).

The Bible Support utility, e-Sword Tab Renamer.
This will install into its own folder, because it has additional files which enable it to be able to keep track of what you are asking it to do.

You will find the file in C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword Tab Renamer and the file you are looking for is e-Sword Tab Rename.exe

If you want to change the name of the file, which you have downloaded from Bible Support, exit e-Sword, use File Explorer, browse to the file, and rename the filename manually. When you next reload e-Sword the tabs will appear in filename order.

While any pane displaying the books is open, if you hover the cursor over the tab, then the related information about that book will appear in a pop-over. If you would like to modify the information in the tab, yourself, you can use the Bible Support utility, e-Sword Tab Renamer.
Please read the information about this e-Sword utility, provided by Josh Bond. The original designer of the Bible Support e-Sword Tab Renamer utility is Raymond Barone.
http://www.biblesupp...rd-tab-renamer/ The link to the appropriate e-Sword Tab Renamer, on Bible Support website.
