Can someone explain to me exactly how the Bible Reading works? I have created a reading plan but how do I know how much to read for a day?

That all depends upon what your plan is. You could read one proverb each day, or start reading the gospels or Paul's letters. A reading plan is what you want it to be. It should not be a duty that you have to do (get through so many verses) it should be something you want to do (spend time with God).
For me I have been reading and studying Romans again. I may get through 1 verse or 5. It is not how much but how well.
Reading plans are guides, they are not carved in stone. Enjoy your time with our Father.

I have a PDF of two spreadsheets I created a couple of decades ago for reading the Bible through in a year, either sequentially or chronologically. I seriously doubt I'll ever learn to make module/s out of it/them, but would be glad to send it to anybody who wishes to do so or to anybody who just wants to print one out and use it that way. Let me know if you'd like it for any purpose.

when you open the Bible reading window or have it open when eSword does you read everything in the bible reading window then you check the completed bible reading icon and close the window the next day it should open with the next days reading and so on
I use a bible listening plan (not part of eSword)

Reading plan step by step in E-Sword
1] click on the tools menu
2] pick the Bible reading option
3] on the top left click the icon for New Bible Reading Plan
4] this will open the Bible Reading Plan Wizard
5] put a Chk mark at Bible and pick OT NT or both click next
6] choose the days you want
7] pick the length of time for the plan
8] click on the icon on the right this will open another window
9] give the plan a name and save it
10] click finish
11] on the bottom left of the reading plan window you can choose which plan you want to use and if it will show at startup
Hope this helps

Many Thanks DSaw.
Let me explain what I am doing:
I have a reading plan to read the book of Acts 5 times per week for one month. That gives me 28 readings. My question is thus; Will Esword show me the whole reading that I must complete for the day ie chapter 3 and 4 or only chapter 3? What happens if I get behind?

eSword only goes down to a month so it would only plan one reading of acts in the month
20 chapters of acts a day to read the book of Acts 5 times in a week is a lot at least for me it is
listening to the whole book of acts would take 2:18:00, 2 hrs 18 min

Hi Everyone, and God Bless:
I just downloaded the new E-sword and set up a reading plan. I clicked the box which says 'Show at Startup'.
Unfortunately, when I started up the progamme again, the reading plan didn't start automatically. I thought that, because I have the hint dialogue box open at the start as well, it might be preventing the reading plan from starting. But that doesn't appear to be the issue. I started E-sword after shutting down the computer, but the plan didn't start up at the beginning.
Could someone please tell me what I am doing wrong?
Thank you,
Randy
