Sorry for not being clear enough with my original request.  I'm not trying to modify the format of individual Strong's numbers, I'm trying to change the default settings that are used when I select "Tools -> Format Strong Numbers".  There doesn't seem to be a way for me to specify the size that's used in e-Sword.

I also just noticed that, when I'm using the Compare feature in e-Sword, my text's Strongs Numbers are not formatted at all!  However when I read only my text like normal, the Strongs numbers appear as superscript and the Strong's # Tooltip pops up when I hover over the H#.  So now I'm wondering whether they're being ToolTipped correctly.

Thanks,

Chris

I am not sure about the strong's number formatting as tooltip only has one method for formatting strong's numbers. As for the font size for the strong's that can be done in Tooltip here is how:

Step 1: highlight a section of bible text in tooltip

Step 2: select format from the tooltip menu and a drop down menu will appear with a list of formatting options

Step 3: The first option in the format drop down menu is label "Font" select this option and small box will open containing all of the options for formatting fonts. The font box contains 3 options for text positions the three positions are Normal, Superscript, and Subscript. Strong's numbers should be in Superscript in order to appear correctly in E-sword.

Step 4: From the position options select Superscript and then using the font size options set the size of the superscript font.

Step 5: (Optional) when you select superscript from the positions list a small box will appear just to the right of the superscript that allows to set how far above the normal text superscript text will appear. The default setting is 3 points or 3.0 above the normal text if you want the superscript text higher or lower than 3 points increase or decrease the number in the small box to the right of the word superscript.

I hope this helps

Hello,

I just started using ToolTip NT, using Strong's Numbers with the words in the verses (like in the KJV+ edition).  I was able to set the Strong Number Formatting options as I like them for superscript and color, but I notice that the font size of my Strong's numbers appears the same size as the text in e-Sword, whereas in the licensed KJV+ download the font of those Strong's numbers is smaller.  Is there any way to configure that in the Strong Number Formatting settings?

KJV+ example : attachicon.gifKJV_strongs.JPG

My attempt in ToolTip NT: attachicon.gifmy_strongs.JPG

Thanks!

I'm having a problem like Chris was at the start of this thread.  I'm working on a Dictionary and the text I want superscript isn't a Strong's number but the parsing information for Greek.  It displays correctly in ToolTip, raised and 8pt.  Under Modules I have "Font Size Set by e-Sword" checked only.  BUT, when it is saved as a .dctx file and then looked at in e-Sword it isn't 8pt anymore.  It is raised and the color I assigned but the font size conforms to regular text.  If I change the text size in e-Sword it changes up and down but it's the same size as the standard body text not smaller for superscript.  Is the problem that it's a dictionary, or maybe because it's not a Strong's number but just text like N-GSF?  I can uncheck "Font Size Set by e-Sword" if necessary but it makes it harder to use for people with bad eye sight.  Suggestions?

If there is a problem than is it for Rick Meyers to find a solution by updating e-Sword 11.0.6  (you can't change the colour of Strong and morphology in the e-Sword 11 version).

The only thing that you can do is to change the font for strong numbers is make the default side bigger or using another font that looks bigger. (in e-Sword options and Fonts).

e-Sword 10 and 11 are different in handling superscript for Strong and morphology.

In e-Sword 10 (modules ending on X) use e-Sword superscript tag and color tags in RTF. (and it looks bigger then the e-Sword 11 version modules).

In e-Sword 11 (modules ending on I) use e-Sword a num tag in HTM. <num></num> and for morphology the <tvm></tvm> HTM tag.

Let e-Sword set "Font Size Set by e-Sword" and 8pt is too small for high resolution screens and people with bad eye sight.

If you want bigger titles then ask to Rick Meyers for big header tag support in HTM. <title></title> or other HTM tags.
