Many languages make extensive use of punctuation marks such as diaeresis, circumflex, accent lines, etc. This makes searching for especially Bible names in e-Sword extremely difficult if one does not know the exact spelling. Does anyone know of a method to search that disregards these punctuation marks? For example, the correct spelling in the Afrikaans Bible is Jerúbbaäl, but should I type Jerubbaal, the search yields nothing.

Any advice will be welcome.

Use Regular expression (REGEX) search and replace the accented vowels with dots.

Jerúbbaäl=Jer.bba.l

Looking at Katoog's reply, if you know how to use REGEX, do as he said. However, if you do not know how to use the REGEX search function, click on Contents in the Help menu, then go to Chapter 22: Searching e-Sword Using Regular Expressions (page 226) in the e-Sword user Guide. This will give you comprehensive help of how to use this function.
