Is there a way to make other commentaries that are availabe also appear under the commentaries tab in esword.
I am thinking in may have something to do with changing the format of the file .exe to .cmtx?
If this is correct how can this be done to allow these to show under the tab. There are alot of other commentaries that are specific to certain books of the bible and would be easier to have then appear under one tab rather than siffting through the ref library.
Any thoughts or help would be great!

.exe is an executable file extension so it is not a module. .cmtx is a module extension and so will show in the Commentaries tab only.
The .exe file had to be "run" usually by double click... follow instructions... start e-Sword.
There is a good user manual, which is worth reading, even if you don't understand it all at this point. You will be surprised what you can learn from it.
To add further to what Jon said regarding the exe extension; this is a program file. Where you see downloadable files from here with an exe extension, they are installer programs/software which contain the e-Sword resource file(s), i.e., commentaries, dictionaries, bibles, and etc. Moreover, exe files have been compiled in a compiler to be able to be executed to run as a standalone program. Changing the extension from e.g., cmtx to exe does nothing at all, and moreover e-Sword will not recognize it, and so with regard to what you want to do, simply will not work.
To understand what the significance of the file extensions e-Sword uses, they define what the resource types are, and as such opens them to appear in the various parts of the Program:
- bblx - Bible files which opens up in the tabs of the Bible Window
- cmtx - Commentary files which open in the tabs of the Commentary Window
- dctx - Dictionary files which open in the tabs of the Dictionary Window
- devx - Devotional files which opens in the tabs of the Devotional Window
- jnlx - Journal files which opens in the dropdown combo box of the Journal editor Window
- mapx - Graphic files which opens in the tabs of the Graphic/Map Window
- notx - Study Note files which opens in the dropdown of the Study Note editor Window
- refx - Reference Book files with opens in the dropdown combo box of the Reference Book Window
- topx - Topic Note files which open in the dropdown combo box of the Topic Note editor Window.
Each of these resources have to have their own file extension to be able to be used in the various windows in e-Sword.
