Do you mean how do you get another tooltips to show other than the standard Strongs?

 

If that is what you are asking, then click on Options -> Strongs # ToolTip and then select what you want.

The only (as you put it) "cross reference" system e-Sword e-Sword has is the TSK.cmtx, which is the official e-Sword one. There is a third party one, which you can download from here, the TSKe.cmtx.  There is also an even more enhanced and expanded edition of the TSK which can be purchased from eStudySource.com.

 

Beyond that, there are no  other kinds/types of "cross reference" systems available for e-Sword that I am aware of.
