I have an old MacBook that cannot be upgraded past OS X 10.7.5.  I'd like to install e-Sword for Mac on it but the latest version doesn't run on this level of OS.  Is there anywhere I can download older versions of the software?

By the way, if you read this post and are tempted to reply suggesting I buy a new MacBook, please don't bother adding to this thread. I know that this is a viable option but not feasible for me at this point in time.  Thank you for your restraint. :)

Thanks and regards
SJ

Ummm, no there isn't. e-Sword X has only been around for about a couple of years, and before that people were basically using e-Sword for Windows using some kind of Wine box or Crossover tool. So, taking note of what not to suggest, then my advise is you install and run e-Sword for PC using crossover. Beyond that, I don't think there is nothing else you can do.

Susheel,

You could try WinOnX2 Pro. It's fairly inexpensive and is available on the App Store. With it you can run PC Apps on a Mac (Yes, you'll use the PC version of e-Sword, not e-Sword X). WinOnX2 doesn't work very well with most software, but I've had pretty good results using it with e-Sword 11.06 and have only experienced occasional problems. But to be honest, I believe you'll find the PC version a little more versatile and flexible than the OS X version.

God Bless,

Gary

Correction to my previous post. To be compatible with older OS X versions, you would have to use WinOnX, not WinOnX2. Blessings.
