I'd like to view the modules in my E-Sword X application on my Mac running OS El Capitan. Having trouble locating them. I've tried Finder - Go - Go to folder - enter /Library  and still couldn't locate the correct file. Am I overlooking something? Any suggestions would be appreciated.

why you need to do so?  installing file in Mac just need a double-click on module files, or through the menu.

In Mac, this folder contain many unencrypted copyrighted materials, so I won't want to talk about it without a good reason.

I am looking for the e-Sword X modules also. Here is the reason:

 

I have been using Logos for eight years. There are only a couple features that I like and use frequently,  which e-Sword X has. I also have lots of personal books on Logos. I am considering dropping Logos for e-Sword X.

 

In the last couple of days, I have been testing e-Sword X on my Mac (Mojave). I downloaded 10 modules (4 public 6 purchased). I also started some Study and Topical Notes. Then, this morning, e-Sword X would not open. The icon was just jumping up and down. Finally, a message came up saying something to the effect, "... you must completely delete e-Sword X and re-download from the App Store..."  I did exactly that and it downloaded just fine. But, everything is gone!  I'm thinking that this is NOT the first time that this will happen. I had to download all of the modules again. And, my Study and Topical Notes... who knows where they are!

 

IF I cannot save my modules and notes right now and restore them quickly later (when this happens again), I am not spending any more time with e-Sword X, nor will I ever recommend it to serious Bible Students.

I also had this problem and because of this almost scrapped using e-sword. I have over 5,500 entries in the study module so not being able to access is a show stopper. I also like to keep a back up of all my modules that i have purchased or are default with e-sword instead of having to reinstall all the time

 

But you need to get to the Library folder which by default is hidden on Mac. This is a folder that Apple feels you shouldn’t need access to most of the the time, but occasionally, you may need it for specific things. I use it often to view the preferences for the apps I have installed on my Mac. I also use it to access the Application Support folder, which as its name alludes to, features supporting files for apps. This is also the case with e-sword X.

 

There are a number of ways of viewing this folder but if using Sierra or newer this may help

 

In Finder,  use the shortcut:   CMD + SHIFT + .

 

Press once to show hidden files and again to hide them.

 

Once you see the folder follow the path to get your user modules i.e. journal, topic and study: library - containers - net e-sword.e-sword-X - data - documents

And to get your bibles commentaries etc follow this path: library - containers - net e-sword.e-sword-X - data - documents

 

Please note I am new to Mac so not an expert, all i know is that it works for me!

I just recently downloaded numerous modules for the Hebrew text (BHSE, BHSEk, etc) and Lange Commentary onto my MacBook Pro (running Mojave 10.14.5) and installed them on my e-Sword X (6.0.1) program. After double-clicking them, they installed and showed up fine in the program. However, when I installed these files, they immediately left my downloads folder in Finder and I cannot find them anywhere on my computer in order to download them to my e-Sword LT on my iPhone (12.4.1).

 

I followed the instructions from Kaz above to find my files, but merely found the folders with the basic bibles installed with the initial download of the e-Sword X app. 

 

Does anyone have an idea where I can find these newly installed files on my Mac?  Thanks.

I recently installed e-Sword and would dearly love to install a module for a bible translation program in which i was involved in PNG.  I found the module on pngscriptures.org, and downloaded the zipped file which is supposedly in sword module format. However, i have not had any success getting it into e-Sword.

I cannot find the pathway mentioned above on my MacBook Pro with the new Apple M1 chipset.

Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
