Drop the "Bible" menu from the main toolbar. Then click the option, Highlighted verses..., I get only a minimal result. "8 verses found," when there are hundreds of verses highlighted. What am I doing wrong?

Those 8 verses are probably ones you or someone else has already highlighted. Find a chapter in which there no highlighted verses and manually highlight one or a phrase of one with your mouse. [Now] press Ctrl+H or click the Bible menu and select Highlight. Voila!

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

 Selecting "Highlighted Verses" from the drop down menu shows no verses as being highlighted even though there are many.  How do I fix this?

Ctrl+H or Highlght are used to add the highlight to a verse or phrase. Pick one of the colours {not white} then highlight some text  Ctrl+H and the text will be highlighted. As you will notice both the Highlight and the Mark are grayed out until you highlight some text.

What silverhair posted also is true for the drop down menus,  as Silverhair said you have to highlight a word(s) with your mouse before you get color higlighting options

My problem is finding the highlighted verses later on.  As I said,
 Selecting "Highlighted Verses" from the drop down menu shows no verses as being highlighted even though there are many.

Hthompson1,

Like Jon...

Sorry I don't have an Apple device.

So, I did a bit of a search on YouTube, and came across a video which may just help you. So try it out and see what happens.

Remember, "No pain, no gain." What that has to do with this, I have no idea.

Blessings,
