I had e-Sword v.11.0.5 working fine under Windows 10 until.... the Windows 10 Anniversary update:

- e-Sword won't start-up at all, however it appears as a background process in the Task Manager

- the same for the e-Sword-PC-to-Apple-Module-Converter

- e-Sword-Tooltip-Tool: only the startup spash screen appears

So, three e-Sword programs don't work after the Anniversary update.

Edit: it also appears that I can't open documents with LibreOffice anymore and everything else works a lot slower, so big problems with the Anniversary update :(

Edit 2: Removed the Anniverary update and everything works fine again.

OK, I had somewhat similar issues, and where everything went ape was all software I had installed was "deleted" from my system. Actually moved to Windows.old folder, and whatever desktop icons were left were as useful as hip-pockets on a t-shirt.

So, what I've done is re-installed e-Sword, and she works fine. No worries there. I'm so far in the midst of reinstalling other programs, which is a massive amount of work. And here is what beats all... My Visual Studio also went to the Windows.old folder, and I've yet to reinstall that as well.

So, at the moment I'm having a lot of fun.

I have the anniversary update on two machines, and e-Sword is running fine on both.

Just completed the anniversary update and everything is working, including Visual Studio.

Hi Jon,

Great stuff!

I got VS working great, and haven't turned back. e-Sword 11.05 is working great. Only thing is the Pericope thingy, however considering its something that I don't use its not an issue, and not a big deal. If Rick were to remove it, great, as its something that isn't important.

Blessings,

It's fixed, thanks to the support service of www.e-sword.net.

I followed their instructions -very simple, indeed-, and... it worked!

These are the instructions:

----------------------------------------------------

Delete the following key from the Windows Registry, *then* start e-Sword:

    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\VB and VBA Program Settings\e-Sword
-----------------------------------------------------

I didn't need to revert the windows 10 Anniversary Update.

Outside of loosing a Laptop, the only problems I keep running into is freezing ever so often to start with. Some parts tend to be a little slow loading, but probably the biggest problem to-date is with the e-Sword Library Manager 1.5. constant problems loading.

The one other problem I've noticed is when I'm checking for updates to the loaded modules is indicating many needing to be purchase instead of showing they've been purchased.

Other than that, the only problem I have is being slow remembering all the great things about e-Sword.

Thanks and Blessings all.

Virgil
