I have just tried to download Chafers Dispensationalism which is labelled esword 8, it does not seem to open on esword 10.4, can this be resolved or can I install esword 8?

Thank you I have downloaded those files, they are now in my downloads folder, do you know what I need to do in order for me to read them?

Actually it may not be as helpful as one might assume.

Jeff,

Depending of the file type you downloaded the following is what you have to do:

  • If the file you downloaded has an exe extension, this is an Installer program. Just click on it and run the program, follow the prompts and it will install into your default e-Sword folder.
  • If the file you downloaded has a zip extension, this is an archive file containing a compressed e-Sword resource file. Simply by using Windows File Explorer, the zip file will appear as a node on the Navigation Pane (located on the left side of the interface). Click on the Zip icon in the Navigation Pane, and from there simply copy the file to your default e-Sword folder.
  • If the file you downloaded is an e-Sword resource file, e.g.:
    • with a bblx extension
    • with a cmtx extension
    • dctx extension
    • devx extension
    • and etc

Then all you need to do is simply move the file to your default e-Sword folder.

Your default e-Sword folder location is:

  • For Windows10 64bit edition: C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword
  • For Windows10 32bit edition: C:\Program Files\e-Sword.

Just a bit of a side note. e-Sword has an internal download manager for both downloading and installing official resources. This program will download and install these files directly into your default e-Sword folder on your hardrive, or will download or install into wherever you have set e-Sword's default resource folder.

I am aware this is quite a lengthy reply, but I hope this will give you the information you require.

Blessings,
