The e-Sword Editor option looks for *.topx type files in the folder that you have listed in the "Options > Resource Options" in the "User Files Location" window. If you move the *.topx files to the "Resources Location" folder, then view the content from the Reference Library window.

Read the history of e-Sword changes on Rick Meyers's website, https://www.e-sword.net/index.htm on the "ABOUT" tab > https://www.e-sword.net/history.html
Windows version changes to e-Sword are listed from the "DOWNLOAD" > https://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html on "View Update Changes" > https://www.e-sword.net/changes.html

You will probably find the Scofield details you need on the entry on BIBLESUPPORT.COM at:
Scofield, C.I. - Scofield Reference Bible Notes with Topical Index (Updated) 1.0 This is the 1917 edition.
You can download this, as update Dec 31, 2021, to provide versions in HTML format that will work with the latest version of e-Sword for Windows, e-Sword on the Mac, e-Sword for the iPhone, e-Sword for the iPad, e-Sword for Android and e-Sword for Chrome devices. There are provided in various option download options for the commentary, and dictionary, options of e-Sword. The zip and exe installation files also include a Topical Index to Scofield's Reference Bible. Locate the Topical Index in the Dictionaries window under the "Sco" tab. This is available at:

To all andd sundry,

To convert an old *.top file to a *.topx file can be in e-Sword without any issues. See Videos below.

And this one as well. This is Take 2, which actually demonstrates the conversion.

If you have a YouTube downloader on your web browser, I suggest you download the above videos to your machine. I have no qualms about anyone downloading my videos and sharing them with others.

Blessings,
