I have downloaded the Witness of the Stars by Bullinger, but seem unable to open it. What software does it require? It certainly doesnt seem to open straight into Esword!

I downloaded this file and will not open. Why?

This is a map file (graphics). If you copy this file into your main e-Sword directory, click your graphics tab near the right end of your main e-Sword menu, and you will see an entry for it ("WitStar"). I just downloaded the file, installed it, and can verify that it does work. I hope this helped you some.
