Dear Jon, Thank you for the reply. But the 14 Bibles displayed are not the first in order. This means that I do not know which is the 15th. Moreover, the order of the 14 Bibles displayed are not the same order in the "options - compare" menue.

The bibles should be listed in alphabetical order by the tabs as shown in the bible reading window. You might have issues with the tabs which is causing conflicts with the compare function

It used to be the case that if Compare encountered several Bibles that did not contain the verses to be compared (because they contained only the Old or New Testament, or only select Books in that particular translation) no further books were displayed.

I am not certain this has been fixed, and it was some time ago that I saw the post that mentioned  this particular glitch, so it might be that my "twixt-ears RAM" is playing tricks on me)

This is one reason why knowing what books you have checked, and where the Compare display ends unexpectedly would be helpful,

From the sound of your last post it sounds like the solution is in the mix of Bibles selected.

Thus says the LORD, "Let not a wise man boast of his wisdom, and let not the mighty man boast of his might, let not a rich man boast of his riches; but let him who boasts boast of this, that he understands and knows Me, (Jeremiah 9:23-24a)

"Defenders of the faith are inclined to be bitter until they learn to walk in the light of the Lord. When you have learned to walk in the light of the Lord, bitterness and contention are impossible." --Oswald Chambers, in Biblical Psychology from The Quotable Oswald Chambers.

Very helpful notes. But I have a technical question: I selected "all" the Bibles I have downloaded, to have a full comparison of them. But I get only 14 texts compared, while the other translations, which I think very important to me in my study, not listed in the "compare" list.

Any suggestions will be appreciated. Thank you.

You could run 2 instances of e-Sword. When you do so, each instance is completely independent of each other, allowing you to have different resources displayed in each instance. It would be like running e-sword on 2 different computers, showing different resources, etc., which means you could feasibly have double the amount of comparisons. I have tried this, and the only caveat seems to be that the 2nd instance does not save the different view, so you would have to set it up each time. you may be able to retain both setups if you leave both running and let the system sleep as opposed to shutting down.

I have not, however, run more than one instance for anything other than the purposes of experimentation (and only this morning), so I can't say what other benefits, limitations or issues may appear. When running the 2nd instance, you will receive a dialog asking 'are you sure you want to run 2 e-swords?'.

I would use it if it allowed me to view any of my modules I chose instead of the 8 pre selected ones. Those 8 don't allow me to view KJV+ / Brenton / LXX+ / HSB4, as the latter two aren't available for parallel viewing. Kind of a letdown, as I need to now toggle in between the four to compare the wording. I really do value esword tremendously. This isn't a slant or put down, and I know, in general, module selection/swapping is very customizable. This is just an issue I've just run into.

Thank you

You need to check which modules are selected for viewing by selecting Options from the menu across the top of e-Sword, this will activate the options drop down menu. From the options drop down menu select "Resources" and a small window will open allowing to see which modules are active in e-Sword. The Resources window is divided into 6 smaller windows one for bibles, one for dictionaries, one for commentaries, one for devotionals, one for graphics/maps and one for reference books.

To the left of the modules in each window are check boxes any module with a box that is checked will be viewable in e-Sword. Any bible module that has check mark next to in the resources window should be viewable in the parallel tab. Each of the 8 viewing windows in the parallel tab has a drop down menu that allows you select which bible you want to see in parallel.
