Of course, you're right. Guess I was feeling a bit facetious. I really do appreciate 99+% of the interaction here.

JPG, Perhaps you missed my question, ... Wouldn't an incorrect DPI Setting also affect the other windows & Desktop, instead of just one window?

I did sort of reply to the question by showing what the developer of e-Sword emailed to me as regards the dpi settings that e-Sword would work with and that was

Jon,

Yes, only the “Normal Font” (96 dpi) and “Large Font” (120 dpi) settings are supported.

In His service,

Rick Meyers

The other issue would be your screen resolution. If it was at the low end 800x600 then there is a possibility that the search window would fill the whole screen by default, and if your task bar at the bottom has a property setting that makes it always on top it would hide the buttons at the bottom. A screen shot will allow someone to assess the situation and advise you.

To answer the dpi question you asked. Most programs will work with dpi different from defalt (96dpi) and Large(200dpi) but e-Sword does not as noted by the email reply I had from the developer noted above.

Hope you can get the screen shot figured as per APsit190's (Stephen) direction.

Jon

Thanks for replying AP, Problem is, I'm still learning about Computers & where I've done fairly well in some areas, in areas like sending pics, screenshots, etc., I'm all thumbs. I just tried to to use the "snipping tool" in Windows 7, & although it indicates that it was saved, I can't find it. Basically what I have now, since I learned how to move the screen to the right, is that I can see the upper right hand "Search button", but not the bottom right buttons, for they are buried under the bottom task bar.

Sorry I couldn't get back to you earlier.

To do a screenshot is quite simple and straight forward.

On your Keyboard, there is a PrtScn (Print Screen) Key, which does a Desktop screenshot.

All you need to do is the following:

  • Run e-Sword
  • While in e-Sword, Click your Search Icon on the Bible toolbar so that you have your Search Window open
  • Now that you have that up, hit your PrtScn key.
  • Open up you favorite Image editor
  • In the Edit Menu, click on the Paste Menu Item (or on the Paste Icon on the toolbar)
  • Save the file.
  • Upload the screenshot to here.

By the way, I think this actually might help you (which I forgot to mention before).

The size of search windows in e-Sword can be adjusted to the size you want it to be. To adjust the size, simply place the mouse pointer at the edge of the Search window and drag it to the size you want. It will always remain at the size you have made it to be.

I trust this is helpful to you.

Blessings,

Stephen (Php 1:21).

JPG & Stephen,

Thank you for your advice.

I was trying to look up what an "image editor" is, so that I could post what I am seeing here, when the thought hit me to "copy & paste" the entire page to the forum.

I had to put my cursor in to area of the outer border of E-sword, in order to "C & P" the page, & "attempt" to post it here. What I found out is that the E-sword window, can be moved, which in turn allows the "Search window" to also now be moved upward, which reveals the bottom buttons at the right corner.

Before this, when I attempted to move the "Search Window" around, & upward, by itself, the bottom buttons wouldn't be shown.

As far as this "Image editor"? I'm "all thumbs" again, & I'm not sure whether "Windows Media", or Adobe Reader does that for me. I do know that I can copy & paste Documents with pictures of Equipment that I work on, to LibreOffice, & that I have no problem seeing clear crisp pictures of furnaces/ heat pumps/ service panels etc. Problem is, I can not "C& P" E-sword, only move it, & that is how I found out about the window. SMH.

Image Editors are programs which edit graphics, pictures, photos and etc. Types of image editors are:

  • Paid ones:
    • Photo Paint
    • Photoshop
    • Serif Photo Affinity
    • just to name a few
  • Free ones:
    • Irfan View (I use this one because, for me, is really straightforward to use).
    • MS Paint (bundled with Windows, and will find in Windows Accessories folder in the Start Menu)
    • The GIMP
    • Paint.NET
    • PhotoScape
    • just to name a few

The MS Paint that comes with Windows, is just fine enough just to use for saving  screenshot file.

So, with that, I trust that you will find this information helpful to you.

Oh yeah, by the way, please let me know how you get along.

Blessings,

Greetings AP & JPG!

Shalom!

Sorry about taking so long to reply, but between "Backing up" all of my E-Sword studies, & My Work, I was pretty busy.

Not quite sure what I did, ... As I said, I'm "All thumbs" when it comes to many Computer Operations, that a 5 year old apparently can do with great ease in Today's World. But, after saving my Data, by Copying/ Pasting all of it in to another folder, I then found out the following:

As I said Oct. 29-16, when I put my "Mouse" on the outside edge of E-sword itself, I saw that it moved, (& this was something that I had not done before), & then I saw where I could raise the "Search Window" higher & actually see the bottom right buttons. I then "re-sized" the "Search Window", to where it now comes up properly sized.  HALLELUYAH!!!

Now, ... I'm going to learn out to perform a "Screenshot", for I Fully Realize now, that knowing how to perform that act would actually help minimize "Trouble-shooting", but also be an Asset, in my Research, & My Work.

I Absolutely appreciate the input that the two of you gave, & May Your "Walk" be Blessed by YAHWEH of hosts in what Ya'll do.

Shalom!!

Blessings to all , I experienced the same problem . I right clicked on the bottom taskbar and selected "show windows stacked" and I could see the Bible search window again . I moved it to the centre ,previously it was out of sight right at the bottom behind the task bar . I closed the Bible Search window and opened it again [via the binocular icon ] ,it displayed correctly in the centre again .

Kindest regards

Bertus .
