Is there an option to stop the spacing in the ToolTip Tool?

The spacing splits a line automatically inappropriately as attached.

I could not find the function in HILP.

Thanks

You could try using soft breaks to break the line where you want them broken

Hi Tj,

What do you mean by the soft break?

Do you think if I use the "soft break" then the tool does not break the line at the soft break?

Could you give me an idea how I can put the soft break?

I will try it.

Thanks

If you mean SHIFT+ENTER, it did not work.

A hard break is pushing the Enter or Return button on the end of a verse

A soft break is pushing the Shift Enter or shift Return button for a line break.

This is a hard break.¶

This is a soft break;¬
but the line go on.¶

Thanks.

As I replied, it did not work.

1.Delete blank

Then the auto break is cancelled and the line is assembled again.

2.Then put SHIFT+ENTER

Then the line is broke again

Example

XXXXXXXXXXAAA BBBYYYYYYYYYYY

This line is broke at the blank on the tool.

XXXXXXXXXXAAA

BBBYYYYYYYYYYY

Then I delete the blank.

XXXXXXXXXXAAABBBYYYYYYYYYYY

Then I put SHIFT+ENTER

XXXXXXXXXXAAA
BBBYYYYYYYYYYY

If it is broke on the tool, it is broke on the e-sword too.

This is topical SBCS spacing solution.

As DBCS does not use a blank as a delimiter, this spacing function breaks DBCS text "inappropriately".

If there is no turn off function of this spacing, then I need to use a DBCS BLANK and need to change the size to half for each DBCS blank.

Or I leave it as a double size blank.

Ok, several things here.

1st,  Enter (Hard Break) and Shift+Enter (Soft Break) will both start a new line. That is what they do. That is what they are suppose to do.

A Soft Break is not what you are after.

2nd, I believe the issue here is that you have the page set up to be only 8 inches wide.

As soon as the line you are typing reaches the end of page, whatever word you are on WILL go fully to the next line, regardless of its length.

This is what you are seeing.

Try this.

Choose the following menu item:

View -> Standard View

That 'Should' change the top ruler length and push it out past the 8 inch mark.

This may help, BUT, you will still run into the same issue if a long word (all characters, no space) hits the end of the screen/page.

Then again, maybe this will help. You still may run into words bumping down to the next line in your resource when displayed in e-Sword.

Wait..Wait..Wait.....!  I just thought of something while typing the above and just checked it out real quick....

Ok, I figured it out. You need what is called a Non-Breaking space (NBSP). See this article on Wikipedia

If you are using windows try this.

In the place where you would have put a space ..... press and hold the Left-ALT key (yes it needs to be the LEFT one)

While holding down that key, on the number pad (Yes, it MUST be the Number Pad) type 0160.

Thats "Zero-One-Six-Zero" then release all the keys.

If you have the "Show Special Characters" turned off, all you will see is a space. It the option is turned on, you will see a little circle where the space belongs.

You can still try setting the "Standard View" to on, but this second way should work much better for you.

I just experimented a bit....

I "Think" that the key combo Ctrl+Shift+Space in Tool-TipNT will insert the non-breaking space for you.

Try that!

Hi Roy,

Goood point.

I will try this later and let you know the result because I have my laptop here and has no

number pad.

I can do that with my home PC.

Try the CTRL+SHIFT+SPACE combo. You can do that without the number pad.
