The latest from estudysource and may I say they are really responsive:

"Both of these issues only pertain to the Windows module. The Apple module is fine.

In regards to the tooltip references, those have been fixed and a new module has been uploaded, which you are welcome to download at no additional cost.

The Hebrew characters are an issue. The Unicode characters for Hebrew that have combining diacritics do not have an RTF equivalent in the Windows fonts. The text development manager is working on a solution, but since there are really so few of these in the NICNT we felt it was better to release it now rather than wait a couple of months. When this issue is addressed, the updated module will be made available."

A question: (perhaps silly!)

How does the (old) International Commentary compare with the New Commentary?

No we don't. However, and this is important. The NICNT for e-Sword is a premium product at a cost of US$139.99, available at eStudySource. This, as with any e-Sword premium resource, cannot be hosted on this site, and is only available for purchase and download at their specified sites.

Is that an affiliate of the official e-Sword website? If that is an unabridged set, it is an incredibly good price.

On you queries.

  1. As  far as I am aware, eStudySource is its own entity owned by Phil and Beth Stoner, and is seperate from e-Sword. However, they are personal friends of Rick Meyers and they do the work of obtaining permission and consent from various publishers to create resources for e-Sword.
  2. Also, as far as I am aware, the NICNT for e-Sword is the full blown set, and therefore is not abridged in any form, shape or size. The e-Sword price is 90% cheaper than what one would pay for at Logos. How that was negotiated, I have no idea. My guess is that most of that price would be swallowed up in royalty payments, and a very little profit would be made from it.

Trust this information is helpful to you.
