We have a large book we converted into e-Sword TOPX format for our students some time ago. Now we need to re-purpose our RTF file for another purpose and the original (non-ToolTip) file has been lost. Is there any method available for "undoing" all the Scripure Tooltips? That is, revert 1_Pet_1:1 back to 1 Peter 1:1, or at least back to 1 Pet. 1:1 without doing a global search and replace?

Yes there is, however, going by what you have shared, you have a very long and arduous job on your hands in order to do it, and I really don't know of a shorter route you can take.

About the best I can suggest is to open that file in your Topic Note editor, and select each reference, and then type over each one, e.g., select 1Pe_1:1 and then type 1Pe 1:1 or how you wish to make the reference. Or even alternatively, select the reference remove the underline by clicking on the U button on the toolbar, and then do a backspace on the underscore, then put in a blank space. Either way, the job you have is going to be long and arduous. I don't know of any simpler way than doing this, including using T4.

Hi rcravy,

You can do what you want by a couple of clicks.

1. Download Tool Tip Tool NT aka T4

found here:  http://www.biblesupp...ooltip-tool-nt/

2. if it is an e-Sword module: click on Modules (at the top choices)

3. select Topics

4. Read TOPX File

It will Read and display (RTF) file

5. At the top choices - click on Scripture

6. select Full Book Name

this is what I did as a sample: this is what you posted

That is, revert 1_Pet_1:1 back to 1 Peter 1:1, or at least back to 1 Pet. 1:1 without doing a global search and replace?

This is the result by selecting Full Book Name:

That is, revert 1_Pet_1:1 back to 1 Peter 1:1, or at least back to 1 Peter 1:1 without doing a global search and replace?

This is Tool Tipped:

That is, revert 1_Pet_1:1 back to 1Pe_1:1, or at least back to 1Pe_1:1 without doing a global search and replace?

This is the result by selecting Full Book Name:

That is, revert 1_Pet_1:1 back to 1 Peter 1:1, or at least back to 1 Peter 1:1 without doing a global search and replace?

If you want to remove the format:

1. Select (highlight) what you want to remove formatting

2. at the top click on Format

3. select Remove Formatting

it will look like this:

That is, revert 1_Pet_1:1 back to 1 Peter 1:1, or at least back to 1 Peter 1:1 without doing a global search and replace?

Hope this helps you

thanks

Alternative steps.

  1. Select tooltip font as black.
  2. Tooltip references again and they will be black. Ctrl+Shift+T
  3. Run "Full Book Name" tooltip. Ctrl+Shift+F
  4. Set tooltip color back to default green
