Hi MTB,
For your reference. Copy and paste this information into a notepad or some other kind of program, print it out and keep it somewhere safe.
Where you will find all installed e-Sword resources is totally Windows version and bit type dependent, and with that, here is a list of folders where installed resources are located.
- Windows XP: C:\Program Files\e-Sword
- Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 32bit: C:\Program Files\e-Sword
- Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10 64bit: C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword
Personal Topic, Study, and Journal Note files are located in:
- Windows XP: My Documents\e-Sword
- Windows 7, 8, 8.1, and 10: Documents\e-Sword
Now, considering you are new to e-Sword I recommend you get to know how to recognize what resources are what by their file extension types. The following are the main ones which are the most commonly used, and they are:
- bblx - Bible files
- cmtx - Commentary files
- devx - Devotional files
- dctx - Dictionary files
- mapx - Graphic/Bible Map files
- refx - Reference Book files
- topx - Topic Note Files
The editors file extensions are:
- jnlx - Journal Note files
- notx - Study Note files
- topx - Topic Note files
Having shared all of this, the one thing is that all of this information just doesn't beat the e-Sword User Guide. To get a far more comprehensive help this guide can be accessed from the Help Menu, or by hitting the F1 key on your keyboard. I genuinely suggest and recommend you go through this guide so that you can really get in to the nuts and bolts of e-Sword.
Blessings,
