First what kind of file is it? a Zip, exe, bblx?

It is easier for me if I know the name of the file or if you post the link.

What is the name of your OS or Windows version?

click on a Zip to open and move it to the default map:

double click on an exe to open an Install

For windows is the default map:

C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword

Or

C:\Program Files\e-Sword

This is for Bibles, Commentaries, Dictionaries,Maps,Reference and Topics.

For Maps is there a mountain with sun icon near the letter E icon

For Reference and Topics is there the books icon near mountain with sun icon

not working for me. Ive downloaded  a zip file (HSB - Text + Interlinear + Strongs + Transliteration), got the thing (a bblx file) out of the zip, put it in the esword folder in Program Files, opened me esword (the very latest version, just updated), and its not there. Went to options-> resources, its nowhere there either... Can anyone advise?

I can see the resources HSB,HSB2, HSB3, HSB4 and HSB5; HOWEVER they are not listed in compare mode.

The same problem with TRi and TRa.

Those modules are using much RTF code for the Hebrew or Greek script.

I suggest that somebody try to covert the modules to bbli Apple format (HTM); using the same input as output so that the modules are also searchable.

You should download the module installer for e-sword it makes installing modules very easy

Was it a reference library book or topic book? Those are in Reference library under Tools on main menu.

Maybe link us to the file you tried to install? Then we can be more specific.

I have just downloaded the Module Installer and the Thompson Chain Reference Module. I installed the Module Installer and then double clicked the Module as I was instructed. It completed and told me to restart E-Sword if it was open and I did. I do not see the module, nor do I see about 3 other Bibles that I had installed prior to this. How do I see the module? I am not so interested in the other Bibles, but I really would like to be able to view the module.

Edit: I believe I have found it, it was in the Dictionaries section. It will be fun learning how to use it.
