Since Microsoft is giving away Windows 10, I wondered if anyone had a report of how e-Sword runs on it?

I'm looking forward to getting the same information. I want to find out before going to Windows 10.

Philippians 4:6-7 (KJV)
6 Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. 7 And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.

I installed windows 10 a few days ago and E-sword is operating fine on it. No problems at all.

The same goes for 'The Word' program.

Here we go on attempt two - check out start button/settings/privacy to see what Microsoft set up for defaults - also wi-fi sense settings.  Read the user agreement - I did not - several articles on internet relating to information mining/sales.

Cortona will not work without moving your computer user account info to microsoft account information.

New browser - Edge - is slow and clunky on our internet connection - opens where it wants not where last used.

Esword works :-)  Also my old Bible program that would not work on 8/8.1 works!  (Decendant of Seedmaster)

If you do not want to wait for MS to update search for "windows 10 media creator" and you will find a MS site with program that will force the update.  They have 64 and 32 bit versions.

Sony does not have drivers ready.  My netbook would not update.  They predict some units will be Oct. to Aug. before drivers are ready - some units will not get drivers.

My Lenovo netbook updated fine but the touchscreen is not working - hope to look into that today.

Chrome browser on our units does not work/chrome tool bar will not work in Edge.  Read that Firefox was not ready for 10 either.

MS sets Edge to default browser (suprise suprise :-)

Overall, with all the headaches thus far  I like the overall operation and look of 10.

I purchased a lenovo from an office store with win 8 on it

It will not install the windows 10 update app

so I checked into it it seems that at least for this lenovo I have to upgrade to win 8.1 first

so for me its a wait and see

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Some articles said that this would be the case and that you would have to be fully updated on 7 and 8.1 but I do not know if that is true.  You might try updating 8 then try the 10.

I think a lot of outfits were caught totally unaware with 10, don't know how with all the hipe.  I have no idea how a company the size of Sony wouldn't have drivers sitting in the wings.

On the threads I read of those who have encountered difficulties, here is a theoretical suggestion.

Download the ISO file for Windows 10, and burn it to a DVD. From there you will be able to perform a New/Fresh Install. First ensure all data you have on your C:\ drive is backed up before you do anything like this as you don't want to lose anything.

When doing a fresh or new install, the installer will format and wipe clean your hardrive before installing Windows. As to whether or not this will fix any driver issue or what ever it is that happens just from merely updating/upgrading, I don't know. However, it is at least worth a try.

Blessings,

I tried 10 but could not resolve the resolution for 64bit.  Everything was stretched or crowded no matter which resolution I tried.  So I went back to 7pro.

For me e-Sword and theWord have worked perfectly since using Windows 10 preview builds as part of the Insider Program (October 2014).

The operating system itself was stable, and any issues encountered could be reported back for fixing. Even with the release version of W10 there is a program 'Windows Feedback', built-in that allows you to report issues and make suggestions, and search what other users are having problems with.
