I've downloaded the scofield reference notes and the tabs are in the E-Sword program. But my Scofield reference index remains in the downloads manager along with myscofield reference notes. I got them unzipped but how do I get them into the proper place in E-Sword? I got the program to run with wine but I don't know how to unzip files and place them using the Linux operating system. Anybody here know anything about Linux and wine?

Hi John,

I'm not a Linux user. However, one can get 7Zip for many Linux distros, including Ubuntu and Mint. Simply Google up "7Zip for Linux," or something similar, and your problem should be solved. You could also Google a Zip program for your particular Linux distro that you are using, and that should help you even more as you would find what is compatible for that particular OS.

I hope this will help you

Blessings,

Thhank you for the reply. I already have it unzipped and it is sitting right next to the original file in the download folder. What I don't know is how to get this to where it is going to work in the program. The first part that sets up the folders is already there. The second download is where my problem is. It's in the download folder waitng for the next step. I already extracted it. The question now is where to from here. This is Linux Ubuntu which may be the same as mint probably. I just keep running into these downloads for different things and they keep winding up in my download folder and no way to finish them. This way is not like windows in that respect. i'm just looking for someone to guide me to finish this task. Thats why I thought I'd ask here in the forum because I don't know of anyone to go to. Linux is still new to me. I must admit I do like it more than windows at this point, but I just don't know enough about it yet. I'm glad someone started me on this operating system, but the person is gone now. So I'm on my own. Thanks for what you did tho. It was worth a try.

Thank you Roy. I'm glad you came along and told me about crossover. I installed it for future use. It's paid for and registered. I don't need headaches like I have now. I can't even get into my e-sword, I can't get into any of my other programs installed using wine. Worse wine had to be uninstalled and reinstalled and still doesn't seem to work right. I've even had to change kernals again. At least I'm getting some help from someone better than me. Some more work to do for this yet. Time to go again. But a thanks to you for pointing this out to me. Good stuff to know.  --John--  With Graditude to you and Thanks for God.
