I had no difficulty loading the File Converter, but after loading the Source & Destination it asks for a Password. Did I miss something?

Thanks in Advance.

The file you are trying to convert is an encrypted module

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

Yep, that's what it looks like.

And so with that, if its an official free resource, then you can download it from (if memory serves me correctly) from your e-Sword's download manager, or if its a premium resource, and if you have the activation key code of the old one, then you can download the latest edition for e-Sword.

Just an added important note as well. Most resources that are used in e-Sword 10x will work in 9x providing they do not have graphics (pictures, images, drawings) in them. So you have to be aware of that.

Just another thing too, if they are the old 8x Topic Note files (*.top) which are those that are not e-Sword official ones, these can be opened in both e-Sword 9x and 10x, and will be automatically made compatible for these versions which have a topx file extension. See Screenshot below of how this is done.

I trust this information is helpful to you.

 My E-Sword Version is 10.2.1

The files I want to convert are

Martin Luther - Concerning Liberty.Top

Martin Luther - Small Catechism.Top
Martin Luther - Large Catechism.Top

The set-up file loads them into the proper esword file, and I can see them, but the icon doesn't change to esword icon like the others, and they don't show up in the Topic index.

I downloaded the esword file converter, and it opens and allows me to enter the source file, and the destination file, but always goes to a dialog box that requires a password.

I am not new to esword. I have used it for years when it was free, and finally purchased a disk to upgrade a couple of years ago. I enjoy this program and while other people in my house watch tv, I am using esword to support my writing projects, and my seminary studies. I haven't experience any problems after lots and lots of downloads until now. I am getting up there in years, and part of my problems might be do to my brain harddrive might need a little tweaking.

Thanks for any help!

Rick

A Luther module entitled "Concerning Christian Liberty" is available for eS9-10 and available right here - http://www.biblesupp...ction-27-files/ (it is 1 of 27 modules in this megapack).

His "Smaller Catechism" for eS9-10 is available here - http://www.biblesupp...ller-catechism/

It would appear his "Larger Catechism" is available here only as an eS7-8 file (http://www.biblesupp...atechismtopexe/) - perhaps one of our BibSuppers would be willing to convert it and upload it. Otherwise, the text is available freely on the internet, and is public domain. The text from this site - http://www.sacred-te...er/largecat.htm - would be relatively easy to turn into an eS9-10 module.

I converted the large catechism to esword 9+

I will try and get it to you if you want it, but in it's current state I will not be uploading to site

If you wish I will clean up the formatting and separate it into topics and then upload

Thank you all for your help. I downloaded the zipfile of 27 files, Which has most of what I was looking for, and then some. I found Luther's Large Catechism as suggested by Doctor DaveT.

Again, Thanks for all the suggestions.

Rick
