To All,

So, we can't get e-Sword for Android, and don't want to use TeamViewer or similar remote application to get e-Sword running on your Droid device, and stuck with MySword, which is used more or less as a sort of alternative to e-Sword. So, with that here's a big question:

Want to use e-Sword HD or LT on your Android Device? Well, guess what!

What?

You can!

Really?!

Yep, you sure can ... well in theory at the moment because I haven't tested it.

There are a couple of programs that will do it, which are:

  1. This is a program called Cider which will run an iOS all natively on an Android device. Click here to go to the website, and from there you will be able to download the Program. There is a demo video on this site which will show you how its done.
  2. The next program is an emulator called iOS Emulator. Click here to read about it, and then click here if you wish to download it.

Now, I haven't tested to see how well either of these programs work. However, if any one wishes to give it a go and post there findings, that will be well received.

By the way, I'm not too certain if this was the right board to post this on.

Blessings,

Yep, I read the same thing too. Whether I do that is another story.

I use MySword on my Droid devices because its more of a necessity, and not as a preferred choice of Bible Software. If e-Sword or an e-Sword clone (that clone being compatible to e-Sword resources) was developed for Droid, then this baby would ditch MySword in less than a heartbeat (which is pretty quick). As for the reason why Rick Meyers wont develop e-Sword for Android, I have no idea, simply because he hasn't told me. So with that I can't speculate on it.

A note on IT front: I understand that Samsung may ditch Android from their Mobile devices, and may go full bore with Tizen (see article from C|net, Samsung co-CEO: We want Tizen to be on everything). Now if this comes to, (and I'm a real fan of Samsung's mobile devices), then this could be another viable option for Rick to develop e-Sword to this OS. Interestingly, Android APK files will be able to run on Samsung's mobile devices as it is done on their latest smart TVs.
