The verse for 1 John 3:10 is given incorrectly in the Nova Vulgata module.  It reads:

10  omnis, qui non facit iustitiam, non est ex Deo, et qui non diligit fratrem suum.

However, it should read:

10 In hoc manifesti sunt filii Dei et filii Diaboli: omnis, qui non facit iustitiam, non est ex Deo, et qui non diligit fratrem suum.

The text can be confirmed at: http://www.vatican.v...ioannis_lt.html

As one can see, the first part has been excised for some reason.

Could someone, please, correct this?

Error has been fixed, and I've sent it to Josh, and it should be up and ready to go very shortly if not done already.

Blessings,

Actually try it this way ... Corrected it and then Josh got me to upload it. Its now all done and dusted, ripped and rearing to go.

If anymore errors are found, IM me and tell me what and where the error is, and I'll fix it. Make sure the correct text is provided, so its just a matter of copy and paste.

Blessings,

Whoever is taking responsibility for the module now, let me advise of some fundamental issue I noticed. There are many such missing data. One simple way for me to point these out is by doing a regular expression search (not inclusive of quotes) "^[ ]:"

You will see that whatever process was used to extract the data it has failed because of the colons. I searched and found 670 places.

Hi Jon,

Looks like I've ended up with the job, of which I count it a joy. That said, I need to know where those errors are so I can fix them. Where you find\found error please list them as in the following:

  • Book Chapter and verse
  • The text which is in error
  • What needs to be corrected, which includes the correct text.

As to the number of errors is not an issue, just list them all. Email me the whole list of where they are and what they are.

Blessings,

There was a problem with the versification also... so I looked at some other sites and found raw data at http://unbound.biola...howDownloadMain

The download contains all the data needed to make a new module including the deuterocanonical books, and verse mapping.

As you are titled "e-Sword Tools Developer", maybe this could be a project?

Hi Jon,

I downloaded the zip file for this from there and had a look at it, and considering that the website Matthew Dunn posted is the official Vatican website for this Bible, I may use that one when I get around to doing it. However, everything is in Latin, including the Introduction and Preface. So this is really going to make it interesting. It may even kill me  Note poem below:

Latin is a language,

As dead, as dead can be.

It nearly killed the Romans,

And now its Killing me.

Whoever penned this has to be congratulated. Probably some poor seminary student who hated Latin. ;)

Hi Pasquale,

Yesterday I started working on it, and I've also found a few missing verses in it, as in no text, except for a colon in the verse. I don't know how many of them are there.

Whoever it was that originally created this resource for e-Sword didn't really do a very good job with it, and so now this has become to be a major fix. I'm thinking of taking the NVLA down, and upload it again when its completed.

If you find anymore errors, please send them to me, outlining where and what they are.

Blessings,

How do I let the converter of the expositor's greek new testament (Nicolls) know about typos in the modules for both e-sword and mysword? I just found one this morning. The typo is exactly the same for both modules.
