I'am thinking about getting some sort of non phone mobile device fire HD7, gallaxy 4 tablet etc.

main use would be have a bible program with searching and note taking on verses or an editor to load verse and take notes for a bible study

but I would like to be able to transfer those notes to a windows machine

the notes would not have to be view able in esword or theword but if that was posible that would be great

My question

what would be the best mobile device and the best mobile app to do this

thank you

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;

I have an Acer tablet running windows 8.1.  That makes it easy to transfer notes and so on to my laptop and desk top.

The only problem I have is that, since it is touch screen, hitting the tabs and so on  can be tricky.  I got a Bluetooth mouse which solved that problem.  Got a Bluetooth keyboard too, handy since it doubles as a protective case.

On line Bluetooth mouse runs about $6-20 and the case about $30.

Hope this helps,

Tim

"IF" you go for a Windows unit, make ABSOLUTELY SURE it is NOT running The RT version of Windows. e-Sword will NOT run on that version!!!

(The last I heard anyway! I could easily be all wet on this one  )

My question

what would be the best mobile device and the best mobile app to do this

I would say that the best one will be the ones you are more familiar with.

In my case, I have used Android tablets and iPads, I prefer the iPad, e-SwordHD and OliveTree BibleStudy App are the ones I use the most, actually I use them in "Tandem like mode" crossing from one app to the other with just a hand gesture. OliveTree with the Note pad or the Resource guide open and e-SwordHD with 5 to 6 Bibles opened in Parallel. I have the same apps at my desktops Mac and PC they both work like a charm. No issues at all and very stable, can't say the same for Android on my experience.

I also sync my notes from OliveTree Bible with Evernote, from there I can use it in any device of any OS, excellent tool.

If you prefer Windows OS, there is a new Window Surface 3 Pro tablet coming out, specs are very good, it will be capable of running Windows 10 full, a bit expensive thou, near $1,000.00 for the Pro.

Cheers

Alex

update

I purchased an RCA 7in Tablet for just under $40.00 to test a few things foremost weather I would use it enough to warrant spending a lot more for a good one, the RCA lasted a month there is now 1/4 inch that is unresponsive to touch along one side but it accomplished what is was purchased for

I now have a Galaxy Tab 4, 7.0 inch I did not get a larger one for its intended use did not warrant a larger screen

I have MySword on it and it fills my intended use very well, to read and look up verses, mainly I find myself reading over what i written for a study,

I do not use my tablet for major bible study I use my desktop for that

one thing I would like to see on mysword is voice recognition note taking, it would not always be appropriate to use but would be a great addition

I just realized that voice note taking is already possible with MySword but it is not built in to MySword it built into the galaxy tab 4

I did run into a con when it comes to the galaxy tab 4 it has no OTG support what this means is I can not use a usb drive

all in all its a great little tablet
