Airdrop

How do you use Airdrop with e-sword on iPad or iPhone? I don't see any setting for it in the app?..
When I saw this my imagination ran wild.
To do an "airdrop" requires a plane or a helicopter. Well, at least something that flies. To do the "airdrop" also requires a parachute so the thing wont break.
To actually do the airdrop, make sure you're over the "drop zone," then open the door of the aircraft, push out the item to be dropped with the parachute open.

From what I saw on Apple.com, you need an iPad 4 or greater (I have a 3, so I am bummed). I think e-sword needs to come up with it's own ability for having highlights and notes automatically transfer without an extra step. Other apps do it, so hopefully in the future it will be available.
I tried the AirDrop using my 5S with e-sword, but couldn't get the AirDrop feature to show up. I followed all the instructions, but no go. If you figure it out, please post how.

I got it to work. I have an IPod and my wife has an IPad. Both have their latest respective e-Sword updates and the latest IOS versions. I found some instructions about AirDrop here: https://support.appl.../en-us/HT201369
Turn on AirDrop on both the sending and the receiving device. (Follow the instructions at the above site.) Then select Resources under the settings button on the sending device. Scroll to the bottom and you will see a section titled 'User Files.' You will see that these have the AirDrop symbol by them. Tap the resource you wish to share. The receiving device will pop up a message asking the receiver if they wish to accept the AirDrop. If they accept it the resource will be transferred.
I did it with something simple first, the highlights. I had highlighted a verse on the sending device and it was now highlighted on the receiving device. I don't know if the receiver's entire highlight file was over written, because they didn't have any highlights prior to the AirDrop. Or perhaps just that one verse highlight was transferred. It seems to me that if someone were sharing a picture from their device with a friend you wouldn't want all of the senders pictures over writing the receivers. But I have no idea how Rick Meyers configured e-Sword HD and LT.
I hope this helps. I was at first hoping that this would be a way of syncing my desktop e-Sword with my IPod, but it turns out to be only between Apple devices. I guess you can use the same resources between computers if you put the resources in the cloud and configure e-Sword to look for its resources in that cloud directory. But I don't know of a way of telling my IPod to look at the cloud storage for its resources. Right now I sync between desktop and IPod with iFunbox.
I will watch this post for a few days to see if anyone has any questions.

" Jim would like to share a file that requires an app from the App Store"
It has a cancel button and a get app button. If I select the get app button it goes to the App Store but with a blank screen. It just sits there and nothing happens. If someone has solved this issue please help me know how. I appreciate it.

Thanks! You are right. I just looked again at E-sword LT and it does not have notes. That must be why my Airdrop attempts are failing. I sure hope this is added to E-sword LT soon. I wish there was a true sync way of doing this between all devices instead of one device writing over the other device. I have been using OliveTree Bible which syncs between my Apple devices and my PC. I would really like to switch to E-sword instead of OliveTree. Thanks again for pointing this out to me.

LT does have notes you just have to press and hold on the verse and the notes function shows up and yes you can Airdrop back and forth between your Mac and your iPhone for your notes. You just want to make sure you can see your iPhone listed when you open Air drop in the finder on your mac. Also turn Airdrop on your phone by swiping up from your home button (or offscreen) at the bottom of your phone. I've only done notes so far haven't tried tag or highlights.
