Looking for any recomendations from online site that sells Bibles. Looking for hardcover KJV. Prefer one without maps, topics etc. Just Bible books. I would like something with decent size print. Important that the paper is not thin. I've already made a purchase only to discover the paper is thin and flimsy. Not to my liking. So if anyone has something simliar to my wants that they could recommend it would be appreciated. Thank you.  Breadcrumbs

You may visit the site www.christianbook.com. this site helps you to see the excerpt of BIBLE. You can see the view of inside pages. You will get information about different binding types available along with font size, number of pages, user reviews......

Thank you for your reply. The thing that I'm looking for is decent paper quality. That doesn't seem to be something I can tell from a website. Thus if anyone has what I'm looking for, [see OP] and can comment on the paper quality, would be appreciated.

Try this.

It has been a long time now, but 30 some odd years ago I was on a Bible quiz team at church and I "Think" this is where our coach got our bibles for us. Plain print, plain paper (not thin because we marked in them a lot and did not want bleed thru).

Hope this might help.

Thanks Roy,

I've checked it out, and I'll give them a call tomorrow and see what they say about the paper. I appreciate your reply.

Another thing worth checking out is (since the KJV is public domain in the states) getting one printed yourself.

CreateSpace.com (owned by Amazon) will allow you to upload a formatted pdf file and get it printed cheaply.  Their paper thickness is standard book thickness.  You could determine the layout, font size, etc.

The only downside is that they only do paperback.  But the prices are right.  a 400-page book will cost you around $6-7 (plus shipping, of course).  You can make it whatever size book you want, have large margins for notes or small margins for less pages, etc...

Thanks for your reply. I have printed out the entire Bible, put in plastic sleeves, and placed in notebooks. I use it for highlighting and various note taking.

I just miss the old days, before tablets, cellphones, netbooks and laptops, when I used to carry my Bible with me. It was often an opportunity to witness to people. Just looking for a good quality Bible to take to the coffee shop or wherever, and as the Lord opens the door, a chance to share Christ with someone. It's abundantly clear that this country needs the gospel more than ever.

Anyway, I think I'll hit the flea markets, and yardsales, used book stores etc, to see what I can find. Thanks for everyone's response.

plastic sleeves make it inconvenient to highlight and make note's in the margin since you printed the bible out have you considered a book binding system

also have you tried a dry highlighter for marking in bibles here is a page with reviews @ christianbook.com

May God change our hearts to what the truth is

2Ti_2:15 Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

Rom_9:16 So then it is not of him that willeth, nor of him that runneth, but of God that sheweth mercy.

2Ti 2:24-25  And the servant of the Lord must not strive; but be gentle unto all men, apt to teach, patient, In meekness instructing those that oppose themselves; if God peradventure will give them repentance to the acknowledging of the truth;
