Rick Meyers made an e-Sword version together with two new updates of WEB.

Those new files are hidden; so if you don't know to make them visible then can't you change the tab order.

I have notice many errors but they are all translation errors.

There is the log with ComparaBiblias (looking for blank of lost verses with the KJV)

TLV: Genesis 31:55 is missing
TLV: Exodus 8:29 is missing
TLV: Exodus 8:30 is missing
TLV: Exodus 8:31 is missing
TLV: Exodus 8:32 is missing

Hi Katoog,

Actually they are not missing. Allow me to explain.

The TLV and CJB, guess what?! are Jewish English translations of the Tanakh, of which in many parts of the Bible, their versification vastly differs from the Goy (non-Jewish) translations. So, where are these, ummm, errr, ahhh, "missing" verses?! Well, guess what?! Yep, that's right; in the next chapter as verse 1. See attached screenshot below.

Moreover, if you look at the CJB in comparison to the Goy Translations, you will see just how extremely different the versification is. Using the trimmed sample you posted of Exo 8:29-32; in the CJB it list these verses as 8:25-28. So, what may even appear as missing verses, in reality are not missing at all.

Trust this is helpful to you and to everyone else who may be concerned.

Blessings,

Hello everyone. I had an old version of the Tree of Life Version for e-Sword. Is there a way to view Joel chapter 4 in the TLV? The TLV numbering system seems different from other bibles. What about the list of missing verses posted by Katoog, were they ever added? Were they supposed to be in the TLV? TI just downloaded the version from e-Sword. Seems the same.

Esword does not recognize Joel Chapter 4 so most module combine it with Joel Chapter resulting in Chapter 3 having 21 verses

It has 20 verses in chapter one, 27 verses in chapter two, 5 verses in chapter three, all of which agree with the online version. Chapter four is online, and contains 21 verses, and cannot be read in e-Sword.

Yes I know how the TLV version is laid out but most of other bible modules for E-Sword present The Book of Joel as follows:

Chapter 1 retains the normal 21 verses
Chapter 2 includes the standard 27 verses plus the 5 verses found in chapter 3 numbered 2:1 to 2:32
Chapter 3 is numbered from 3:1 to 3:21 and contains the text of Chapter 4

This setup acts as workaround for the fact that E-Sword does not recognize Chapter 4 as Joel 4 in a bible text.

I have emailed Rick Meyers about the versification issue.

The data is there in the module but is not aligned with KJV, and so in this particular instance in Joel ch 4 does not appear in the tree. Even if it did appear there it would be confusing for comparing verses with the KJV scheme which most software has as a baseline.

If you need to look at the data for ch4 just search with a regular expression setting, just in the book of Joel and search for the $ character (end of line)

Most E-sword bible modules use a work around for the Joel 4 issue which is as follows:

Chapter 1 retains the normal 21 verses
Chapter 2 includes the standard 27 verses plus the 5 verses found in chapter 3 numbered 2:1 to 2:32
Chapter 3 is numbered from 3:1 to 3:21 and contains the 21 verses of Chapter 4

I personally cannot find the download.  I tried typing it in the search box and by going through all the pages of bible downloads.  Where is the TLV available for download here in the esword program?

The Tree of Life Bible can be download directly through e-Swords built in downloader the module is not available here on Bible Support

Step 1: Open e-Sword
Step 2: Once e-Sword is open click Download from the menu across top of the e-Sword main window and the download drop down menu will open.
Step 3: From the drop down menu click "Bibles" to open the download window which will have 5 tabs, the open tab when the window opens will be the bibles tab.
Step 4: The downloadable bibles are listed by language, the Tree of Live version is in the list of English Bibles under the sub heading Free.

Step 5: Select the Tree of Live Version from the list, then click "Download" from the menu at the top of the download window. This will open a small menu with just 3 options one of which is labeled "Start". Click start to begin the download
