Is it possible to read bbli and cmti modules into ToolTip?

It is so much easier to use ToolTip than other utilities to edit these modules.

Reading a bbl file, ToolTip stops at #define nt=NULL

Reading a dcti file, it stops at #define version=1

In His Name.

As nobody answered my question, I believe nobody knows whether it is possible or not.

Thank you,

Johan

Johan,

Here's what I did. Its not an exact answer to your question but it may help.

I opened ToolTip NT twice.

In the first ToolTip window I clicked on Modules, Bible, Read Bible ...

In the second ToolTip window I clicked ModulesHD, Module Define Variable, BBLI ...

I compared the #define variables but kept only the information that the BBLI module wanted. In this case I did not keep #define version or #define font or #define right2left=0. I kept the #define versionHD=4.

Then I copied the contents of the bblx text into the bbli window.

Next in the second ToolTip window click ModulesHD, Save BBLI ...

Now just upload the bbli to your IPad or IPod with IFunbox. (I didn't actually do this last step but I don't see why it wouldn't work.)

I haven't found any way to directly read an existing bbli or cmti into ToolTip, but I'm no expert by any means. Most of the stuff I've converted for my IPod I haven't had to edit. So I used Rick Meyer's e-Sword to Apple Module Converter that you can find at http://www.e-sword.net/extras.html

Hopefully this is helpful.

Gary

Brent, the developer of ToolTip NT, has not put this functionality into the program. The database schema is different on e-Sword desktop vs. e-Sword HD/LT. He would need to add a separate feature to ToolTip NT for it to work.

Thank you for the feedback.

I already tried that, but when I want to save, it gives "Index Error" and "Value Error" error messages.

Hi, Just starting with Objective C - I have the following question: How do I read a text file into an array - where each entry in the array is a line from the text file. I cannot find any methods under NSString or NSFileManager that appear to provide this ability Any help appreciated

HI William,

Here is an Idea, Use Visual Studio 2015 (that's if you have a Windows PC), and from there you can create apps for iOS, Android, and Windows Mobile devices using Xamarin. Write once and then compile for different platforms. This predominantly works in C#.  Doing Arrays in C# is really straight forward (as equally in C++).

Blessings,

P.S. A late addition to this post.

OK, Just a couple of links to MSDN's Channel 9 relating to cross platform development in Visual Studio 2015.

  1. Developing iOS and Android Apps in C# with Visual Studio
  2. Xamarin.Forms: Leaveraging XAML to Build iOS, Android, and Windows Apps.

I trust that this information will be of real help to you.

S.J.
