The existing Installation Instructions for the Rainbow Bible that are provided in the zipped file are faulty.
The name "Markup.ovlx" ought to be changed to "Rainbow.ovlx"
and the word "Esword" ought to be changed to "e-Sword".
Unfortunately the provider of the zipped file forgot to edit the file named Installation Instructions for the Rainbow Bible.txt (dated 2012-06-10). And the changed locations names of the folders, applicable to the (64-bit) operating system that run on versions of the PC that are later than Windows XP and Windows 7, are not mentioned.
The existing instruction tells you to "Put the Markup.ovl file in the following default directory for Windows 7."
"C:\Users\(username)\Documents\e-Sword"
Place the Bible file Rainbow.bblx into your Esword directory. Typically the default directory is C:\Program Files\Esword"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
As at the date of the instructions in the updated zipped file that was submitted to Bible Support, dated Feb. 4, 2022, in the Download option you will find one download file supplied.
This is in a zipped folder, with the name Rainbow v 1.0.zip

KJV-Rainbow Rainbow v 1.0
NOTE:This was probably coded for the version of e-Sword for the PC using RTF coding. RTF coding was used in e-Sword for the PC version 9 (released April 2009), and e-Sword version 10 (released November 2011). In July 2014 e-Sword version 10.4 was released, which provided the new feature of a separate User Files Location field, for customizing where you wish for your user files to be located. The color coded overlay file needed to be placed in the User Files Location folder.

From August 2019, e-Sword for the PC version 11 was released, which provided for the processing of new HTML-based resources. These resources were now coded in the same way as the modules that run on e-Sword X for the Apple Mac computer. The same modules will also be read in e-Sword versions 12 and 13 for the Windows PC.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Also notice, that if you are using a Computer that is (64-bit), then the default folder into which to save the module that is provided, the KJV-Rainbow.bblx would be in C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword folder instead of the folder C:\Program Files\e-Sword that was designed for Windows running Windows XP, or running Windows 7.

When this file has been downloaded and is unzipped it provides the following five contents:
[1] a folder with the name:Rainbow v 1.0 and inside this folder is the e-Sword module "KJV-Rainbow.bblx" Made by Shawn Fifield. See KJV-Rainbow Bible, Information page for details.
[2] eswordcolorguide.jpg modified 2010-04-07 [You could rename this as Rainbow-eswordcolorguide.jpg]
[3] Installation Instructions for the Rainbow Bible.txt modified 2012-06-10 [This was not updated Feb 4, 2022]
[4] Rainbow Colors.txt modified 2011-09-01
[5] Rainbow.ovlx modified 2011-11-08

Please notice, that the module name Rainbow.ovlx now is different from the name specified in the Installation Instructions (dated 2012-06-10). What had occurred, is that the supplier of the documentation realized that he had to change "markup.ovlx" because if he used that name, then this would actually overwrite a similarly named file, provided with the initial installation of e-Sword, as designed by Rick Meyers. This is why the filename was changed to Rainbow.ovlx

PLEASE NOTE: The Bible Support Utility, e-Sword Module Installer, as at version 0.6 does not know how to process the file with the file type .ovlx or .txt or .jpg so you will have to select these files and use "copy" option, to "paste" the unzipped files into the correct destination folder.
The Installation instructions for the KJV-Rainbow Bible
[These instructions would be more useful if they were amplified as follows]
[1] Run e-Sword and select Options, then Resource Settings... then Bible
[2] Take note of the specific path to the folder in the window for Resource Location.
This is the folder to which the Rainbow.bblx file must be copied.
[3] Take note of the specific path to the folder in the window User Files Location.
This is the folder to which the *.txt, *.ovlx, and *.jpg files must be copied.
[4] Exit e-Sword
[5] Now you can process the files to copy the unzipped version to the required destination.
[6] Copy the unzipped Rainbox.ovlx file and the eswordcolorguide.jpg and the Rainbow Colors.txt and the Installation Instructions for the Rainbow Bible.txt and Paste each of these into the User Files Location folder that was specified in point [3].
[7] Copy the KJV-Rainbow.bblx file into the Resource Location folder that was specified in point [2].
[The Bible Support Utility Module Installer will help here. Tap the filename, and make double sure that the destination folder is the correct one.]
[8] Now actually use File Explorer, and browse to the folder, and use an appropriate application to read the content of the Installation Instructions for the Rainbow Bible.txt
My suggestion is that you edit the text file to provide yourself with additional notes to amplify the existing information, for your use in future, and take the opportunity to correct errors.
Then you can write a private SMS to the supplier, to inform him of the errors you discovered.
[9] Start e-Sword again.
[10] Tap your pointer somewhere in the e-Sword screen, so that the PC knows where the pointer is localized.
Select the Bible Maximized option (Ctrl+F2)
Select the Bible that has the tab name "KJV-Rainbow" S.F.'s KJV Rainbow w/ God's Word Underlined.
Then use the option to Lookup Scripture Reference (F2), and select a book of the Bible, and select a chapter and select a verse.
[11] Select the tab to "Bibles", select the option "Markup File", then select "Open..."; then select the "Rainbow.ovlx".
[12] You will now see the Bible text which has been color-coded by Shawn Fifield.

S.F.'s KJV Rainbow w/ God's Word Underlined
King James Rainbow Bible with God, Jesus, Spirit's Word's underlined. Resources include Rainbow Study Bible and RSB Software Edition. I added Judgment category with Indigo color and other misc. color changes. Made by Shawn Fifield. All Rights Reserved.

HINT: To find the Rainbow Bible in the list of contents of the e-Sword for the PC, use Options, and Resource Settings, and then look for the entry after the KJV entries. It has the name "S.F.'s KJV Rainbow w/ God's Word Underlined". The file names are sorted according to the name that was given to the files in the Resource Location folder, not on the spelling of the Bible Tab names. You can move the position of an entry in the list of tabs, by changing the filename to its logical alphanumerical position in a listing of the files of a particular file type, in that folder.
