Hello all:

I am new to the board. I had to have my laptop reformmated. I lost all of my old ESword. I just downloaded the new version. I also downloaded John A. Broadus's sermons which I desperately need for a book project I am doing. I was told by Rick that I would have to come to you guys to download the TOPX extension or module or whatever it is called.

Can someone give me a step by step instruction as to how to get the Broadus stuff to show up, where it might be, and / or how to use / view it?

I would be very greatful indeed!!!

If it is an (broadus) .exe file, just double click on it and follow instructions.  If it is a .topx file then put it in the program files (x86)/esword directory on your hard drive.  If you do not know how to do that, open windows explorer, find the .topx file, right click on it and select copy, then navigate to the program files (x86)/esword directory, right click in a clear area of the window on the right and select paste.

When you open esword go to the menus at the top, select tools, then reference library - when it opens the bar at the top is the list of your library, Broadus should be listed.  If esword is open when you do this you may have to restart esword.

Welcome to the board!  Lots of resources to dig through!

Dear Frustrated Academic,

Did you ever find out how to bring up the Broadus TOPX file? I've been reading through the threads, and I don't think you ever got the right answer. I did a little experimenting, though, and I HAVE been able to get it to work.

Yours in Haste,

Richard

I downloaded Pink - Divine Covenants, and it shows as the e-Sword module installer, which launches and reinstalls when I seek to execute the Pink File.

Also, the Pink File, before trying to execute it, is a .top, not .topx file.

I have not been able to get this to work.

Any help would be appreciated.

Top files are for e-Sword 8.x and prior only.

The "e-Sword 8.x Module Download:" appears at the top of 8.x module pages.

Thank you, Josh. Any chance that this will be available for e-Sword 10?

I have it in Kindle, but using it in e-Sword is so much better.

You can open TOP files in e-Sword 10.

1) Cltr+Right Click on the Topic Editor Window.

2) Select "Open..."

3) In the Lower Right, click on the dropdown where it says, "Topic Notes Files (*.topx)" and select "Old Topic Notes File (*.top)"

4) find your file and open it.

Thanks BH that was it -- one thing to note -- you cannot use "import" only the "open" will work, just as BH instructed.  I tried the "import" as that seemed more logical, but it failed so I went with BH instruction using "open" and it worked, it also restored all of the library books to the bottom scroll down menu as well.  Peace, Dan
