I understand the last number is 1 for valid and 0 for error.

 

What are the first two numbers for?

These numbers are probably not very useful to the end user, but they are, [1]The starting position of the reference, [2]the length of the reference, and [3]is the reference valid or not. 

 

Not a very elegant way to display the information, but hey, you get what you pay for!  :-)
