Have an ipad 1st generation.  Installed e-Sword HD and everything seems to be working except for bible word search.  Is this common or have I done something wrong on the install?

Yeup, the search is a little buggy, it seams to work on some Bibles better than others, for example if I search for Jesus with ESV it came up with 966 matches, if I do the same with others it came up with 0 matches. Weird.

Could be and issue of how the module was converted, I notice it works better with the ones downloaded directly than those converted with the convert app. Can't tell for sure.

Joe, it seems my guess was right, I just test a module which came up with 0 matches at the word Jesus, I convert the original bblx module again and now it works well, new search came up with 1167 matches!

Now to test the rest of the modules to see how many are needed to be re-converted.

It's funny I noticed this search issue long time ago, and never gave it much though until your post.

Hi Alex & Joe,

I don't know if you do this, and in the case you never have, please allow me to make a sincere suggestion.

Whenever you strike a bug, or as you guys might call it, "a glitch," this kind of thing should be reported to Rick Meyers, the author of e-Sword. The reason for this is so that whatever the issue is can be tested, and if the problem is in the source code, it can be fixed. And if the problem is in the resource, then that too can be fixed in one way or another.

Usually, if there is a bug is a software problem it can be fixed relatively very quickly, and a new version of e-Sword would be up and ready to download in a matter of a few days. And its for that reason why glitches or bugs should be reported.

I trust this information is helpful to you.

Blessings,

Hi APsit190, thanks for your comment. I don't think this is a bug or glitch at all. As I mentioned on my last post, I believe it was a thing of how the modules was converted, (at least on my personal experience) I got it fixed by converting them again with the latest converter version (1.70) I had 15 modules coming with 0 searches and now they are all working well. On my side there is no need to contact Rick, unless Joe's problem is different.
