Hello everyone, my widows crashed and I had to reinstall.  Is there a quick way to reinstall esword and the purchased modules that I have already paid for?  I guess I will have to individually install all of the books that I have downloaded from here.

If you did not back up the c:\program files (x86)\esword directory, yes you will have to reinstall everything.  After you are done it would be good to back up the directory to a usb stick or external hard drive.  There is also an esword directory in My Documents that you should backup.

Yes, there is a way to avoid reinstalling all of the files en mass rather than individually, but as exsentric pointed out, it requires backing up your c:\programfiles (X86) directory periodically.

I do so not only as a safeguard against situations like yours, but because by doing so I can keep my desktop and my laptop synced.

I copy from the DVD I backed up from  to the machine I didn't back up from (generally from laptop to desktop) telling it to replace any copies with the most recent version.

If you did do a backup, you will still have to reinstall e-Sword to get the registry stuff set up properly.

Don't forget to back up your topx and other user files as well (generally found in your documents > e-sword)

Hi Mike,

I really hope you do silly things like, ummm, backups. If not, then you truly are in, well what could be best describe as, hot water. Ouch!

Blessings,

After installing program on new computer, how do you get the install serial numbers for modules that you had purchased?

If you did not store them somewhere safe you will have to go to where you purchased and see if they will give them to you.

Hi Mike,

With regard to premium resources, those you purchased from eStudySource, all you need to do to retrieve your key codes are:

  • Log into your account
  • Click on My Acct. at the top right hand corner of the page.
  • Then on the Account Information page, click on View Orders, and in your View Orders page you will see a list of all your purchases
  • On each of your purchases, where it says, View Order, click on View Order Receipt.

Once on that page, you will be able to download the resources you have bought.

Blessings,
